Loved it as usual, thanks for the update. The conversation between Lupin and Jane was hilarious. Please update again soon!

Thanks for the fast update. I hope Snape doesn't run to his quarters and decide to sign the contract in a fit of temper (you wouldn't do that, would you?). He certainly is his own worse enemy and he's quite pigheaded in refusing to acknowledge his feelings for Jane. Is Roland Gash hiding something? I'm not sure what to make of the fact that his wife hasn't been with him for at least seven years when it's in her interest (especially where Princilla's education is concerned). Gash knows how to hit Snape's buttons (particularly in exposing Malfoy's vulnerability), but I don't really understand how Gash was able to avoid Voldemort by bribing the MoM. Is the answer that Gash was still so powerful that Voldemort wasn't going to try to coerce him until he knew Gash wouldn't be in a position to refuse? That must be it. But is it true that the cream of pureblood wizardry is really so unconcerned with Snape's half-blood status? Does Gash truly disdain Malfoy and admire Snape?

She understands him, but he does not return the favor. Prat.

I've been reading this story for a few months, and I love both the story and the way you write. You've set up Severus's choices so wonderfully, and I can't wait to see how the rest of the tale plays out.

“The Order of the Meddlesome Codger,” Snape grumbled. Brilliant as always! Thanks for the bit of post DH sunshine.

I'm happy to see an update, hope you had a lovely vacation. I'll start with saying that I am a founder and a charter member of the Snape Lives! movement. She omitted to include real proof that he died in the Shrieking Shack and even if she had, he'd still live in my eyes. If people can believe that Elvis lives, then why not Snape? He's my erotic fantasy and I intend to keep him living and breathing in those fantasies. The banter between Snape and Tonks was fun, they actually bonded over Delores the douche bag and her horrible BO. I love the way you write about Umbridge, her stench would certainly offend my sensitive nostrils. Tonks comment about being downwind was priceless. I also love the aliteration of her powdered, putrid posterior. I liked Gash, even though he is Princilla's father. He's plain spoken and honest and his self image is based in reality. He must be as rich as Donald Trump and he must have better hair, even David Letterman's hair is better than Trump's. If I didn't think Snape and Jane were made for each other, I'd consider him splendid father-in-law material for Snape. I have one request concerning Gash. Omit the word 'Even' and let the sentence read "At sixty, Roland Gash cut an imposing figure. Those of us who have reached that decade don't feel that we need qualifiers like 'even', 'still', 'though', etc. We consider ourselves to be in the prime of life. I hope Jane makes an appearance soon (an erotic one would please me best), I've missed her.

This can't be the end, it's even less substantial than The Sopranos finale. I expect more to come from this story, I like Jane and I expect her to prevail as Snape's true love. Don't let this be the end, if this is the end of the story I will feel like I've wasted my time for the last 13 months watching for it and reading it. Anyway it looks to me as if he merely Apparated, probably to Cordial Spirits, and never returned there again. Your Snape had too much of Henry Higgins in him to just disappear for good, and it does seem that he had become accustomed to Jane's face as well as her more intimate body parts. Just an aside here, wouldn't Alan Rickman make a splendid Henry Higgins? Please continue on to the actual end of the story even if he doesn't end up with Jane, I prefer that to an ambiguous ending. I invested al lot of time and speculation in this pairing and I'm not ready to give it up. I'm sure JK Rowling will have written a complete denouement for the series in the final chapter of Deathly Hallows and your story desrves no less. Besides, I'd like to find out how Harry and Luna's romance ended up, was it with a wedding or did they break up after a while? Just because a story may end up being AU doesn't mean it's that it's not worth reading. Anything that is well written deserves to be read. I'm anxious to see how DH ends. But no matter how DH ends, I will always consider Snape as a good guy and I will want to read stories about him, particularly Snape/OFC romances and romances with Snape paired with almost any canon female except Hermione.

Author's Response: Calm down! Of course he apparated to Cordial Spirits, silly! :^)

I love your explanation for Snape's helplessness where Jane is concerned -- not his desire, but hers. It makes perfect sense.
