She treated him badly, according to this account, and never really loved him. Yet he still seems to think she was the best thing in his life. I'm definitely thinking YKW was involved in this sick obsession. Author's Response: Yeah, it's hard to picture why he'd be so stuck on her, but I do think she represented everything he wanted in his life and never got, that the idea of her was as important as the reality. I take back everything I said about kind Remus, since he obviously sees Septima as nothing but an object to be used, like YKW. I love the way they have no qualms about her possibly getting killed. Author's Response: Remus is being twisted around in a way as well, but as with so many situations in his own life, he has the chance to say something, to stop the madness, and he doesn't.
