Ah, yes, a tortured-to-death Dumbledore is looking better all the time. *sighs happily* I've always been convinced he was evil enough to do something like this. AK'ing is too good for him!
Author's Response: I'm sorry it's taken me so long to answer your reviews. I can't tell you how tickled I am that you've been reading this and commenting so much. This is absolutely the meanest Dumbledore I've ever written, for sure. Thank you!. |

Hmmm. I think Septima needs to take a backbone-enhancing potion. She's just too nice! I really like the Parseltongue Arithmancy, though. That's very original and intriguing.
Author's Response: Thank you! I had fun picturing how this particular year could play out and whether there were ways to get clues about the heir of Slytherin. Septima has had some bad breaks and really hasn't had the chance to learn much. Unfortunately, she's learning it all through experience. |

Stupid Lily! She's been rotting in the ground for over a decades, but she's STILL screwing things up! GRRRRR! At least Severus is man enough to be honest with Septima, but he still needs to get his head straight. Maybe there's a potion he could take to let go of a lost love.
Author's Response: Thank you for the review! Actually, Notwolf wrote a story where a potion was the reason Severus felt that way about Lily and for some reason he forgot it until years later. Anyhow, this Snape is married to the idea of Lily more than he loves Lily. That can be worse, unfortunately. |

I've been reading and enjoying this, although I've been too lazy to review it. After this chapter, though, I had to review. I'm now imagining a fanfic in which Dumbledore is captured by Voldemort and horribly tortured (described in graphic detail). Severus and Harry work together to rescue him. During their researches, however, they discover the horrible way he's treated them and others and screwed up people's lives. They decide to let Voldemort have him. Aaahhhhh! I feel much better now. :D
Author's Response: That's quite all right, LOL! Thank you so much for reviewing. Yes, this is a rather mean Dumbledore, meaner than I've ever made him. That sounds like an awesome plot bunny, by the way. I hope you do something with it! |

Is she pregnant again--has Severus truly seen the light, or...? It's nice for Hermione to have witnessed this side of them.
Author's Response: He's definitely trying to make her understand that he's committed to her, and he took advantage of the chance to say it in front of his mother and their daughter. This is the first chapter that the POV wasn't either of theirs, so it does leave a question or two. Answers are coming soon. Thank you for the lovely reviews! |

So sad that he can never feel quite what Septima needs and deserves--and yet, the passion's there--so true to life!xxx
Author's Response: They both know they belong together, but she has her doubts about his commitment. Something workable is in there somehow. Thank you, as always! |

Yes, she's finding her inner strength, as painful as that is for her-- good for Septima!
Author's Response: Yes, she's forcing him to give her time and space so she can process this. Thank you! |

Awww, Severus... he just wasn't capable of 'getting it'--nothing could ever faze him or alter his 'idea' of Lily... even her using him to impress James *shudder* - great chapter!xxx
Author's Response: Yes, even though she was completely using him, he couldn't get over the hope that maybe she'd leave James. But he's finally able to give the truth to Septima, so that's progress, at least. Thanks, again! |

Ooooh... what a revelation scene! Sirius is a rutting swine--perfect!
Author's Response: Got to love Sirius... sort of, but yes, this is how Septima learns what she's always wondered, even if the people telling her don't realize exactly what she's learning. Thank you for the review! |
