I like Lupin but I will always come down on Snape's side. I didn't have too high of an opinion of Black before I read the pensieve scene OotP and that turned me against him. No matter how ugly and nasty he can be, Snape's my man. I see she can be just as jealous as Snape. I hope their relationship will always be bumpy, they would be so bored otherwise that they'd lose interest in each other. Not to mention that it's what keeps the story so interesting. |

“To prove a point,” Snape informed her imperiously. “Lupin gave you six cans for Christmas. This is my way of illustrating that I am one thousand times better than Remus Lupin.” That is perhaps one of the funniest things I've ever read. Emotionally stunted, indeed. You are brilliant.
I'm thinking that with the old standards, and your snappy dialogue, that you are deliberately trying to emulate the old screwball comedies. I can see them as Cary Grant or Claudette Colbert, but ... uglier. LOL -- Marianne
Author's Response: You are absolutely correct. It has been deliberate. The old screwball comedies were my only frame of reference. I've never read a romance novel, which is why I have no PWP skills whatsoever. I'm trying to keep Snape behaving as Snape, but Clancy is equal parts Colbert, Irene Dunne, and Madeleine Carroll. Aunt Hilly is basically Ruth Gordon with a dash of Beatrice Lilly to keep her British! Thank you so much for your kind review!
Author's Response: Correction: Beatrice Lillie. |

Another good chapter. I like how you blend it with the book.
Author's Response: Thank you. That's half the fun, trying to make it all fit. |

I loved the idea that the witches in the picture were watching the lovers! I'm happy they have found a place in front of the mirror. I truly enjoyed the poetry in this chapter. Oh, Severus...that was an absurd amount of soda to shower on Clancy, but a good idea. As always, I wait with baited breath for your updates, even though it takes me ages to review!
Author's Response: Better late that never! Thanks, Liz! |

I was out for a bit, but I returned to read your wonderful story once more, can't tell you how much I enjoy Clancy, she is such a wonderful girl, and the right girl it seems to handle the Potions Master, congratulation on another well done chapter :)

Author's Response: Would you believe me if I told you that Aunt Hilly was a devotee of Victor Borge? I've had to restrained myself from having Clancy teach Dumbledore the "Phonetic Punctuation" routine. Undskyld mig, vaer venlig, for being so silly! :-D |

This is priceless. Witty and absurd. You have a gift to taking a gag to extremes and beyond and get more mileage from a pineapple than I ever tought possible. -- Marianne
Author's Response: Thank you, Marianne. I hope you enjoyed it. The pineapple was intended to be a one-time reference, but somehow it took on a life of its own. Now I can't seem to get rid of the darned thing! :) |
