This is a hugely enjoyable story, although not all the twists and turns are entirely logical. (Wizards aren't any good at logic anyway, so that's all right, isn't it? ^.~) I think canon-Lily is entirely too wedded to her goody-goody pretence to give snape a look-in - by the time of the Shack incident she didn't even care enough to hear his side of the story before judging against him - but I like your version, and the journey you've taken them on. |

I found myself captivated by the story. . . and yes, I think you reflected the new Snape merging with old Snape pretty well. . . he was definitely in character but a little more reference to his old life might have been nice. the quick ending and killing of voldemort left me a little confused. . . if the sword didn't manage to destroy the horcruxes, then how was voldie killed? and how did the fiendfyre work on the book if the sword did not? all in all, though, I was very impressed with the ending with lily. it did justice to the many facets of both their characters
Author's Response: In the books, the only reason the sword worked was because of the Basilisk venom.
Anyway, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. |

WOW. This was a really different story -- no Harry Potter, and a true second chance for Severus. I'm going to pretend that Barty Crouch Sr killed Pettigrew, so that James and Sirius find out about his true colors when the DE mask is removed. Severus will likely not want to return to the country for years, and Lily... hmmm.... Lily may be happy with that, since she's not close to Tuney and her parents die soon. Severus adores Lily, and she likes that. They may be happy in Switzerland, where Lucius gave Severus a HUGE hunk of money. Or they may go to Hogwarts, where Lily teaches Muggle Studies and Severus teaches Potions. And it may be safe for Dumbledore to use the Resurrection Stone to see his family. Thank you for writing and sharing this story with us!!! |

Grrrrrr...... James Potter.
Had to laugh at Lucius, giving Severus money for the Imperius excuse, and tossing in the diary-Horcrux with the Fiendfyre that Severus set. Barty Crouch Sr still in denial about his son's guilt. No Nagini in this story? I won't miss the snake! |

Oh, my, Severus lasted a very long time, fighting off all those curses and Aurors and Moody all by himself. And he's just a young man still. |

Poor Regulus. He was miles better than Sirius, but his parents didn't see it. No wonder he was so loyal to Kreacher -- only Kreacher saw the greatness in him. |

Oh, no! Will Dumbledore be foolish enough to wear the Gaunt ring when he will have access to other Horcruxes.... sigh. I knew Severus shouldn't have made a deal with Sirius! |
