Reviews for Insidious

I love all the little details you packed into this chapter, like Crup racing. Splendid writing, as always. I see there are more chapters posted for me to catch up on, so off I go... And oh, that rat! I can't wait to find out what that last bit was all about.

Author's Response: Thank you!

Poor Snape! i can't wait to read the next chapter so please update soon. I hope Wormtail gets his comeupence.

Author's Response: I do apologise for the posting delays! The next chapter is up now, and the rest should follow much more quickly.

Ahhh....... I lost this story for a while. Forgot where to find it. I love it but am a little disapointed that there is only one new chapter I haven't read. Please update soon.

Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying, and I do apologise for the posting delays. Updates should be much more frequent from here on out.

Loved this chapter, as always. It had a bitter-sweetness to it, as well as some angst. My goodness, though, Wormtail sure f'd with Snape's house! I'll be surprised if he survives the next chapter. What the heck possessed him to go that far? Poor Snape! His lot is not an easy one.

Author's Response: "My goodness, though, Wormtail sure f'd with Snape's house!" *g* Indeed! As for what possessed him to go that far, it is revealed in the next chapter, and you might want to hit me with an old boot when you find out. :-) Thanks for the feedback; glad you are enjoying!

This is great. There is a lack of good Petunia fic, and you've made Snape sulky, sarcastic, and mysterious, just like in canon. I really like how Snape is having to juggle loyalites to Dumbledore, Voldemort, and Petunia. I'm able to picture all the events in my mind because they are so realistic. Keep writing, and please update soon.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm so pleased to hear that someone likes Petunia fic. It has been really interesting working with her character. Updates should be much more frequent from now on.

This is just so very GOOD.

Author's Response: And that means so very much to me, coming from you. :-) Thank you.

Grainne, this is wonderful. I still can't make your Snape out: which side is he on (his apparently genuine concern for Dumbledore suggests one thing; his secrets suggest another), what he really wants. Your humour is subtle, witty and very much appreciated; it is easy to "see" this version of Snape as your story unfolds. Please, updates soon...please!

Author's Response: I am so pleased you are enjoying (and still mystified), and thank you for letting me know! I do apologise for the posting delays; from now on updates should be much more frequent.

This chapter was an absolute delight to read. ... Uppityton Rail Station-if that name was used before I must have slept through it. ... Graphically illustrating to Sanguini his punishment with toothpicks and mince pie, amusing... Telling Steve to keep on driving until they reach a cliff to drive over--that whole taxi ride detailed the pain that Snape has been going through...I couldn't draw water if I were at a well--I suppose somewhere that is a cliche, but I had never heard it before. It sounds like something Lily would have said and for a moment it made Petunia seem human laughing at that and almost having a fond memory of her sister. ...genuine muddled memories--nice phrase Snape shouldn't have to settle for the fake ones...kissed under the mistletoe by Yvonne and groped by Yves--oh dear are you saying Snape is attractive to both sexes or was that some smashing Christmas party? Overall this chapter gives a bittersweet portrayal of a tormented man. It makes us question what is Dumbledore's plan and more importantly why is Snape doing things without telling Dumbledore. Generally it seems that Snape wishes to cheat a little to get whatever results that are needed. Is it possible that Dumbledore has very high and possibly unrealistic expectations of Snape? That Snape in his desire to please Dumbledore and defeat the dark lord may be making mistakes that will come back to haunt him? Another 2 things that I thought was enlightening was the the speech the Dark Lord stating that it doesn't matter why they bow to me, just that they do and by doing so give me power. Is it arrogance or is the Dark Lord wondering about the loyalty of his servants? and 2, The vow Snape made to the Dark Lord not to pass on tainted blood. Is this how the Dark Lord thinks of himself and is this why he seeks immortality?

Author's Response: You are one very insightful reader! Thanks for all these wonderful comments and questions. I do think that Voldemort displays a great deal of arrogance. Does he trust Snape? No, I don't think he trusts anyone completely, but he may be arrogant enough to think that he can control and/or manipulate him. As for the blood issue, I do think Snape might have (genuinely or not) expressed disgust at his own heritage when joining Voldemort's ranks. And if the vow not to procreate had more to do with Snape's own preferences than any real blood-purity zeal, why, then, who is to say? ;-)

wonderful update, can't wait for more.

Author's Response: Thank you! More is on its way.

What's Wormtail's sudden aversion to Snape's library all about? Poor Snape; can't bring myself to blame him for getting drunk! I'm also looking forward to the end result of the Haven potion ...

Author's Response: The Wormtail issue is explained in CH. 12 (and it really is quite ridiculous). Only a handful of chapters to go, and updates should come more quickly now, so you should not have too long to wait for (some) answers. Thanks for reading!
