Reviews for Highly Improbable

I love your disclaimer, the Plea to Ms Rowling, the new school song, the flamingo [especially when he stepped in a flamingo patty], and Tartan night. The Algonquin Roundtable was full of the cleverest wits of their time, why would she pick Woollcott to obsess about? But then he is the person "The Man Who Cmae To Dinner" is based on, and that man shared a lot of traits with Snape like sarcasm, nastyness, and having no time for dunderheads, etc. I guess I see the attraction now. I am going to miss this story very much, but I know I can go back and reread it whenever I want. I hope it stays archived for my life time.

Author's Response: Why Woollcott? Too many reasons to go into here, but for one thing, even though he is less known today than some of his contemporaries, he did a great many things besides provide Kaufman and Hart with inspiration for their hit play. The appeal for Clancy, I would imagine, would be the anagrams (he loved playing them, as well as other games), and the fact that he introduced Edna Ferber to Jerome Kern. I like to think that Clancy kept returning to the Ziegfeld Theatre on December 27, 1927, until she devised a scheme to make his theatre companion for the evening trip over a pineapple or something, and then finagled her way into the theatre in the unfortunate person's place to enjoy the opening night of Showboat. Thanks for reviewing, Trickie Woo. I'm glad you've enjoyed it. :-)

This story has always given me laughter and a good mood when I needed it, and sometimes gave me indignance and angst too. It's been a delight to read, and I'm sad to see it end. I'm sure I'll reread the whole of it both before and after Book Seven comes out. Clancy is one of the craziest and most interesting characters I've ever seen in fanfiction, and the epilogue, which shows her just as crazy in the future, is brilliant.

Author's Response: Thank you, FeyinBetween. I'm happy to know that you'll be rereading this someday!

THY TOILS IS OVER, but this tale is forever--humorous, touching, creative, and clever. I was never much of a shipper, but this one caught my fancy, and I now have a fond spot for Snape and his Clancy. I know that you're headed for much greater waters, and I wish all the best to you, this pair and their daughter. One day, perhaps, just for a lark, you'll all sail again on a BAVARIAN ARK? [*thunderous applause from me* This is only a small bit of what I feel for this story, but it will do for now. More honesty in the anagrams (CAPS) Tartan Night! Whee!]

Author's Response: THY TOILS IS OVER: I LOVE THIS STORY. (Or did you mean, HI -- IT'S LOVE STORY, or TRY! IT'S OH SO VILE?) BAVARIAN ARK: BRAVA KARINA A HERRING SCENE_________________(Your turn.) :-D

Absolutely fabulous, Im so glad it is finally up I have been checking anxiously for days. Poem at the start was a great touch. Wish it wasn't finished but glad I stumbled on to this fanfic.

Author's Response: Thank you, ccpoodle. I'm very happy to know you enjoyed it. :-)

Wicked author! You scared me with the nightmare about the Dementor. I was a bit unnerved about "S to L" on the pin being "Slughorn to Lily" but at least now she will get a pin that IS uniquely hers. I must say I adore your Plea poem to Rowling - are you mailing it to her? 'Cuz if you aren't, I will! I enjoy your wit and intelligence in your writing, and even though this fic has taken a huge chunk of your time, I hope you continue to write. Thanks for sharing these characters with us!

Author's Response: Thank you, June W! That's why I posted the epilogue and final chapter as one. I didn't want to cause anyone needless alarm. The delicious irony of a new canon character with an S initial who just happened to have a yen for pineapples was just too perfect an opportunity to pass up, and I needed Snape and Clancy to have one last misunderstanding in order for them to make up at the end. As for the poem, I'm rather shy about things like that, but I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you do decide to mail it, please let me know if you receive a reply! :-)

Vocalion, thanks for a great story. It was wonderful to finally see them together. The argument over the pineapple pin was the perfect closer to this wonderful story. :)...I loved all the poetry at the beginning, the disclaimer, the plea, both wonderful...I think everything was tied up wonderfully. Oh, loved the idea of the life extending potion causing facial har. LOL You have to have some sort of side effect, why not something funny. :)...I'll miss this story, but believe me, that year plus was time well spent. Hopefully you will find an idea for another so I can read more of your wonderful writing. :)
Jean

Author's Response: Thanks for reading! As Clancy is 49 in 2015, I suspect that she may have a few chin hairs with or without the Longevity Potion. :-D

Shades of Snapini you did it!!! This was one of the very first SS/OFC stories I read and thanks to you (and Clancy) I was not scared off! I was very hesitant to begin with, thinking that inventing an Original Character, who would fit the HP universe (and even more importantly Snape!), would be almost impossible but you have proven me wrong! This has been a wonderful story to follow! Thank you! 38 chapters of pineapples, anagrams, a kilt, a flamingo, a Jarvey - I could go on! As a reader I can only say that the ending was perfect! As a Harry Potter fan I can only say; 'well done'! I wish you good luck with your writing and maybe some day I'll find a book in a bookstore written by you! Well, as you know, I could go on so I'd better start thinking about ending this... Maybe it's just my computer but the links to the art on the SH-site was not working for me...I saw the one by Perselus on Devianart - wonderful! Oh and btw 'A Plea to Ms Rowling' is just wonderful! As always I'm hesitant to press 'submit' because I always forget to comment on something in my reviews which I then later regret but well...-

Author's Response: Thank you, Sniv. I appreciate your kind words. I checked the art links and they're working now, as far as I know. But they do tend to shift around mysteriously from time to time, don't they? :-D.
