Reviews for A Merciless Affection

TRE 2005.06.23 - 02:53AM 13: In This Labyrinth, Where Night Is Blind Signed
Wow. The dialogue that you have used for Dumbledore ...and all the characters in this situation is exceptional. McGonagall was a delight. This is reading a bit like a Jane Austen novel on it's own and I'm enjoying it immensely. Not too mention that it's almost 2am and I have work tomorrow!

Snape seems to have the upper hand again. I feel sorry for Sarah being manipulated by everyone.

Yay! A new chapter! And just in the nick of time, too. I really needed this. Great plot development. A student married to a teacher inside the school - and they're going to hide it how, exactly? 'Cause I work in a school and NOTHING gets by the students....

I imagine that she'll say a categorical "NO" at the altar.... *RIGHT*? Seems to me she'd sooner marry a manticore, and besides, she's such a level headed girl, I can't begin to imagine that she would surrender the lead of her life to othyre people without a fight.

Took long enough! Well, I'm enjoying this fic very much, but I find to be a little irritating the way Sarah is always looking for the worst coming from Snape; she didn't even consider the possibility that Snape was spying for Dumbledore. Silly girl!

I love where you are taking this story. Dumbledore's reaction makes perfect sense. I have never believed he would condone student/teacher relations, but he would try to do what's best for all. I'm a little surprised (like Sarah) that Snape would be so forth coming but again its not like Dumbledore would expose the problem or put his spy in danger. oh, and Sarah should sent her dear aunt a letter saying piss off and instruct the owl to shit on her head!

Author's Response: Well, it seemed like Snape ought get his own way with Dumbledore for a change--it happens so rarely! And in this instance, Snape was really holding all the aces...which he knew quite well, of course, before he ever acted. Gosh, imagine how satisfying that must have been!

Yes! I like this story very much. The writing is quite...savory, for lack of a better word. I love your characterization of Sarah. And NO, she is NOT a Mary Sue! Don't even THINK that! Keep up the good work!

You know, i have been reading this story ,but have never reviewed it before.I think is great , one of the best i have read.I know is a lot difficut to figure out Snape, to describe him and keep him in character, but you have made a great job, without fluffiness, i hate when a fic about him states how sweet he can be, and how suddenly he have fell in love.I just want to ask you , that pleaaaase , keep updating it. And recomend you to read ''taking over me'' you are gonna like that one. i read the last comment you did about Dumbledore, and i wanted to add that i think, thats quite sad, my preffered characters in the HP series are actually Snape and Dumbledore, nobody is perfect, and that was quite clear in the fifht book whe he said he committed a mistake, he isnt ommipottent , he isnt God, he is just an old very wise man , and a very observant. People sometimes describe him as an opportunist , who likes to use the people around him, but what is his goal, nothing personal, just keep Voldemort and his death eather at bay. KEEP UPDATING PLEASE!!!!!!!!

"Swooning seemed the appropriate response, but her body was too strong and sensible to cooperate with any ephemeral sense of the fitness of things." Yet another example of why I admire Sarah (and your writing). Interesting plot twists. I don't envy Sarah the next few hours with McGonagall!
