Author's Response: Thank you! But no updates on this one - two chapters is all the story required to tell itself. :D

This is a fine story; I enjoyed it. Snape, Hermione and Neville all seem very right. I like the way you show Neville's courage and persistence under his jellied terror of Snape, and both he and Hermione have more empathy than most of their year-mates, just as in canon. Regressing!Snape was more than funny or sweet; the contrast between the man and his emotions, and the child's increasingly limited ability to do and reason, comes over as the terrfiying experience it should be. (I was glad to find, when I checked today, that the quite substantial amount of text that was missing from part 1 is now available, and I could read it. I like that little scene, with Neville showing real backbone, as well as common sense.)

Author's Response: Thanks very much! I don't know anything about clumps of text going amiss...I'm glad that has sorted itself out.

I loved this story. My heart was in my throat as the professor fell further into his plight. I also liked the pacing of the narrative and the ending. Thanks for writing this.

Author's Response: Thank you for reading it! My stories have a tendency to wander and go nowhere, so I'm very pleased that you think the pacing for this one was good. Thank you!

Very well done story! I thought it was particulary well done in only two chapters. You brought in all the right ingreedients to make it work. You kept the characters in "character" and brought out the best and wrost in all of them (with exception of Granger who didn't get much play time but that was not your intent I believe). You kept it focused on Nevell and Severus where is should be. Great job.

Author's Response: Thank you very much for your very kind comments! I did intend to keep Ron, Harry and Hermione in the background; I really wanted the story to be about Snape, Dumbledore and Neville.

This story was fabulous. I usually only go for the purely SS/HG fics, but I got a real kick out of this one. The 'Severus in the bathroom' scene was great. I'd forgotten what it was like to be shorter than the bathroom sink. I, too, also loved the part where Severus throws his arms up in triumph. It was such a clear picture in my head. I look forward to other stories from you.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I have just a few clear memories of what it was like to be so small, but it was fun to try to work them into the story.

This story thoroughly lived up to the potential of the first part. All the characters were perfectly I/C, and great ending!

Author's Response: Thank you!

What a great story! Brilliant (and believable) interaction between Snape and Neville especially. And Baby Snape was sweet!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your review! I really liked writing about baby Snape.

This was a wonderful story! I greatly enjoyed the interactions between Snape and Neville, with Snape's reluctant acceptance of Neville's help, and Neville showing a new stronger side that was still believable and in-character. Likewise, the scenes with Snape and Dumbledore were also very touching. The revelation of Snape being abused as a child and Dumbledore's anger at not being able to stop it was really sad. But the moment when the secret potion ingredient is found and baby Snape throws his hands up in the air while Dumbledore bounces him up and down made me laugh out loud! I hope to read more from you very soon!

Author's Response: Thank you so much; I'm delighted to hear you found some parts of the story touching (because then I think: "Gee! Maybe I'm not such a melodramatic hack after all!" :D).
