| OK, I'm not nitpicking, just pointing out the obvious: we all know by now that his birthday is actually (according to JKR) January 9th. Now that that's out of the way, I just want to say that this story is extrememely well-written. It tore at my heart, and I was crying buckets by the end of it. As someone else said, because I know how he feels. Also, as others said, *I'D* be there if I'd been invited! Screw the staff and the students, what do they know? |

| It's a year and a half since anyone left a review for this, but I just had to leave one of my own anyway. THIS IS THE MOST GUT-WRENCHINGLY SAD STORY I'VE EVER READ, E-V-E-R. I sob like an idiot every time I read it, and I'm not one easily given to tears. This really is the most incredible verbal picture of desperation and loneliness I've ever read. **goes away, wishing there were some way to let the Professor know just how many people really do want to celebrate with him** |

| Actually well written but too sad and self indulgent (after all he didn't give anyone the least bit of encouragement to like him...why would they show up!) Ha Ha! The story did keep me engaged and I did want to find out what happened. Good job! |

| Oh, that's so sad!! I have friends whose birthdays are on Dec 31 and Jan 1, and they say nobody remembers their birthdays either, because of the holiday. Sigh...well, if I were there, *I'd* go to his party! Thanks for the story. |
