|I'm a fan of the Harry Potter series. My favourite character is Severus Snape. Complex, intelligent and sexy, he is the tragic hero of the series. |
I hate how JK Rowling killed him off in Deathly Hallows, and it was what inspired me to write my first ever fanfiction 'Flying With The Raven'.
I mostly read SS/OC and SS/HG, but occasionally other pieces that catch my attention. I don't like stories that drag on and on without much happening and rarely read anything over 100,000 words unless it is very good. I'm quite forgiving about typos and punctuation errors, but poor style or grammar puts me off straight away, as does OOC. I like realism and don't fancy excessive time travel, de-aging, obscure family links and Snape the vampire stories.
I am a thirty-something female and mother of two boys. I am German and hence not writing in my mother tongue.
About my stories:
Flying With The Raven is set during HBP and DH and pairs Snape with an adult OC who is on a par with him. It is a Snape survival story, offering plenty of romantic fantasy fodder. Snape's characterisation focuses more on his noble side, prickly shell notwithstanding. Yes, this is self-insertion, but I am willing to share if I get a few reviews in return. ;-)
Avada Kedavra started as a short piece about Snape and Charity Burbage. The original one-shot ends with Charity's death, and has a sort of tragic beauty to it. From a lot of the feedback I received, it appeares that people just want a happy ending though, so I have since started on an alternate story line that will give you just that. To achieve such a feat while staying true to canon there will be some breathtaking plot twists. And it may turn into a longer story alltogether. I'm really focused on this story now, and hope to be able to complete a chapter a month.
Wishing On A Star is a post-DH story pairing Snape and Sinistra. Snape is a more flawed character here than in FWTR. And it won't be until he can stop blaming unfavourable circumstances and other people for his misery that he will change and find happiness. Updates here will be fairly slow, but I will never abandon this story.
And on Ashwinder: Beyond Captivation
SS/HG. When Snape arrives at Malfoy Manor and saves Hermione from torture, he ends up seeing her in a different light. A tale of love, obsession, and learning to let go, told in three parts. Not a stereotypical romance, it should appeal to those who do not normally subscribe to this pairing.
All my stories are totally canon compliant. Not that I mind AU, I just enjoy exploiting the many gaping holes JKR has left us fanfiction authors!
