I work as a math/stats expert for a markelting research firm, but I have always loved to read, and in my youth thought it would be great to be a writer. I am also a mother of two young boys (both pre school age) whom I blame for my HP hobby. Just when it seemed that to have any fun 'me' time required hiring a sitter and going to more trouble than it was worth, I discovered online fandom. It has grown into a full-blown obsession.
My favorite character in HP is (surprise!) Severus Snape. I find it fascinating to speculate about how he came to be the character Harry knows and hates in the books. I admire his cool intellect and bleed for his (usually hidden) emotional side. But most of all, I am drawn to the idea that the character represents for me: that, however awful our past choices may have been, there is always the possibility, even the duty, to do what one can to straighten out the mess one has made.
