Of course, a Gryffindor would think that "brave" is the highest compliment one can give. I have a higher, which I'd give to no other adult in the Potterverse: he was a person of integrity. |

How did I miss this? This was beautifully done, Herbologist. I always felt that Minerva would take the revelation of his true loyalty badly: I think any true Gryffindor would because he showed himself to be honourable, brave and true - the very qualities they consider so valuable. I love the reference you made to the fact that he appeared at peace and that she wondered what his last thought had been, it's a comforting idea to hope that his last moments were peaceful.
This genuinely brought a tear to my eye. Very well done as always. :)
Author's Response: Hi hexgirl, thanks so much for lovely review! I like to think he passed away at peace, looking into his Lily's eyes, and able to look her in the eye once more after all he did to redeem himself. |

"I was hoping it would end with Severus reading the tribute (i.e. alive). I'm convinced that is the reason his portrait is missing." (x2)
I completely agree with her! This was one of the most beautiful tributes I´ve read.
Did you pass all the characteristics of Minerva great well! I also have a fanfic centered on Minerva and Severus
(she saves him =D), but reading yours, I felt I could have described it much better, congratulations!
In fact, I would love to translate it to post on brazilian´s fanfic sites (yes, I'm brazilian). Would you let me translate this tribute? (with all due credit to you of course!)
Author's Response: Thanks so much for your wonderful review. Of course you may translate this and post on brazilian fanfic sites. I would feel really honoured. |

Lovely tribute. I was hoping it would end with Severus reading the tribute (i.e. alive). I'm convinced that is the reason his portrait is missing. ; )
Author's Response: Ah, sorry, it was part of the challenge for him to be really dead! But in my other stories he does live, so I do agree with you that this is the real reason for the portrait missing. :-) |

Beautifully done, Minerva! (kicks Dumbledore's portrait... useless thing...)
Author's Response: Haha, indeed... He stops meddling the moment she would actually appreciate his help! Thanks for reading and reviewing! |

What a lovely tribute! I admit to a small chuckle about how she procrastinated until the last day, since so many of us did that who wrote for this challenge. Even so, I think you well captured how she must have felt, after realizing just how wrong she was.
Author's Response: Thank you so much, Rose! I have to admit to being a bit of a procrastinator myself sometimes... She must have felt awful, and so glad she didn't manage to kill him! |
