Great job rising to this challenge. I like how you used the Mirror of Erised. Thanks for the story.

Author's Response: Glad you liked it. Thanks for the review :)

Of course, according to interview canon, James Potter's Patronus was actually a nose-biting teacup... *Harry's* Patronus (= his happy thought) was a stag. Representing James' *Animagus form* (= who James was). Your Animagus form isn't necessarily the same as your Patronus, after all. You're not necessarily your own happy thought! Apparently *Lily* *was* her own happy thought, though. ;)

Author's Response: Yes, I know Harry's Patronus was the stag. And yes, I know your Animagus form isn't necessarily the same as your Patronus. I have never seen the 'nose biting teacup' interview (assuming that is not a joke). James was arrogant enough as a teenager for his happy thought to be himself, or his pride at becoming an Animagus. Lily's happy thought was obviously James, so she projected the female for of him. Isn't fanfic wonderful? It allows a lot of artistic licence.

That was so beautifully sad. It made me realise why I despise James Potter so much and why Lily was lost to him from even before the Mudblood incident. The image of him having to witness Lily and Potter's Patronuses together is tragic really, I wonder if he really DID see them together *Sigh*. I can really imagine him transfixed in front of the mirror of Erised, bless him. I expect Dumbledore had it moved for his sake as much as for Harry's. This was a lovely and poignant little piece, if achingly sad. Well done and thank you for sharing.

Author's Response: Thank you. I'm sure you're right about Dumbledore moving the mirror - I think Snape would've spent even more time in front of it than Harry. Thanks for reviewing.
