Reviews for The Sempra Deck

HalfordsDoll 2011.08.11 - 12:16AM 9: Epilogue - The Hinges And The Clasp Signed
I do not know what to say but BEAUTIFUL! It was brilliantly written and I have to concur what most are saying...After DH, I have been depressed. This completely broke through and made me smile. Such a wonderful happy ending. Thank you thank you thank you!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your kind words - my friend Mimimanderly has almost finished the corresponding Tarot deck that goes with this story, and I can't remember when a story has given me so much pleasure to write - I am thrilled that you enjoyed it and it made you smile - that is the most rewarding thing you can tell an author! I agree that DH left us all feeling a little bereft, but we can heal all Severus' hurts - one fanfic at a time!

Seeing DH put me in a bit of a funk (despite generally not even really liking movie!Snape...) and in need of a happy ending for our dear Severus. I'm so happy to read that he got one here! You made me gasp with the appearance of bastard!Dumbledore last chapter (though I always love to hate him; he's the best thing to come out of DH for me), but of course Severus and Mimi are too clever for his manipulations. :) I hope they have a long life together as the country's most striking couple, and as always thanks for writing, Teddy!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the story. I think DH put us all in a bit of a funk, so a little Severus joy was needed. Soon, there will be more - a lot of writers are taking part in the SS/HG Exchange, there are a lot of fests happening right now, so hopefully lots of SS love will be winging your way very soon.

I loved this! And it was over much too soon (good writing like this doesn't come around often enough!)...If we begged long enough do you think we will ever see these two (Severus and Mimi) together again? Anyway, beautiful story! Thanks!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words! I usually ship Severus/Hermione, and very occasionally Severus/Minerva, but you never know. I will have to speak to Mimi myself to find out about her and Severus' adventures! She will be so pleased as well.

Absolutely darling and wonderful! Well done, Teddy; You've created another genuine masterpiece! Bravissima!

Author's Response: Thank you so very much! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that! This was a joy, and I had a ball slipping my Muse in the final chapter in a cameo. Now everyone can see what a sweetheart he is.

*GASP!* So, that's what they were doing in between making love for those three hours! Thank all the gods they did!

Author's Response: He's pretty clever, that wizard...

I have a feeling that little lick of Severus' blood triggered something in Mimi's. Could it have been the catalyst for releasing her own magic? Enquiring minds want to know...

Author's Response: Oh, but that would be telling!!

Since I've been a relatively sporadic reader at LJ, I wasn't able to finish reading every chapter before it locked me out (what IS UP with it, anyway??) So, I have been reading it all here. Oh, well! At least I'm reading! Incredible story! I read ch. 7 in real time over there, but this is my fav. chapter so far! I wanted to drop you the review now, b/c I just noticed you put in Winnie Churchill's nickname for Mimi, and that is more than a little funny! No wonder she's reveling in this little tale you've cooked up for her, I am too! Ta for now!

Author's Response: I'm so glad you're enjoying the story! This was such a joy to write, and the fact that others like yourself have gotten a kick out of it has been doubly wonderful for me! I have to admit I didn't get the reference to Winnie Churchill, but maybe when (if!)LJ ever comes back on line you can explain it to me!

Wow, a fantastic final chapter to a wonderful story! It had a tight, complex plot with a great mystery and a lot of original details. And the best part of all, a happy ending. Mimi is an admirable heroine: smart, brave, determined, loving, and loyal. She's just what Severus needs to heal the wounds of his past. I'd love to see this pair in future stories together, with or without the sex scenes.

Author's Response: Thank you! I really appreciate your kind words about Mimi, because, that's exactly the way she is in reality. When we originally talked about this story, it was much less involved, and started as just a lark, but my Muse Dahlra had other plans - I think it was just an excuse for me to put him in one of my stories, because he's not usually that vain! And, let's face it, we want Severus to have a happy ending, because if he can have one, we all can.

Wow! Fantastic chapter! it had more twists and turns than most whole stories. I was sorry Severus or Mimi didn't AK Scumbledore right then and there. (Actually, I guess they should have Cruciated him first.) What a sadistic fiend he is, setting up Snape to have love and happiness, then expecting him not to go all the way with it, then blaming *Snape* when he acted like a normal person instead of the usual self-sacrificing doormat. DD is a true psychopath, completely selfish and lacking in empathy and decency. HIs Obliviating Severus doesn't even make sense, unless he plans to Obliviate the entire school, all the DEs, and Voldemort, too. But Snape's not a Slytherin for nothing. He put one over on the old monster. Go, Snape!

Author's Response: Thank you so much. I'm not AD's biggest fan ;) The Obliviate was one of those things that I put in to sort of show that, because he was so ill, Dumbledore really wasn't thinking clearly about things, that he was living in the moment most of the time. I really think Dumbledore was so obsessed with his Greater Good that little details had no place in his agenda. At least, I hope that's how it came across!

Oh, great twist there at the end. It makes sense, too. I liked that Severus decided to make Mimi's sexual satisfaction his crusade. That's a much more sensible crusade than going to some foreign country and killing members of other religions. ; ) I can also see Severus as the other kind of crusader, though; he has the same kind of fierce determination and willingness to sacrifice for a cause.

Author's Response: Thank you for your kind words. Yes, he was a dutiful man with an impossible task. I always hated that JKR never gave him a break anywhere in the series. He just seemed to be stepped on his entire life. I thought it was time to give the poor man a little happiness!
