That's not my favorite pairing, but you pointed us to the aspects of her character that would have made it work. I like the way you gently touched upon the various scenes.
Author's Response: Glad you gave it a chance. This was a bit of a departure for me, so I'm glad you thought it worked. |

There is something of the Greek tragedy or the Shakespearean in your work. But then again, I've always felt Snape would have fit quite well into either genre. Well done.
Author's Response: Thank you. Snape is definitely the stuff of grand tragedy. (Fan-fic in the style of Shakespeare--ooh, great idea!) |

This was superb - wow! Without wishing to sound conceited, as I started to read this, I thought to myself this has got to be written by a professional writer - it is so lyrical, almost poetic in its rhythm & flow (&, bugger, why can't I write like that?!!) It has that extra something! So it was no surprise to read your profile afterwards!! I now realise this appears to be your first foray into the world of fanfic (at least on this site) so I really, really look forward to more from you now ... (It is also nice to see a fellow 'more mature' author/reader - I'm definitely with you on the non-teenage stuff - fanfic is clearly where the adults play! Welcome!) :-)
Author's Response: Many thanks for your kind words, and for taking the time to read and review!
I am new to fanfic; have written a few things around (mostly on FFN) and am working on editing them and submitting to the sycophant hex sites & The Petulant Poetess.
It's quite different from non-fiction writing; much harder, but more rewarding, I find.
Pleasure to "meet" you! |
