Ch.36.Hi there, still enjoying the story.
Severus is twisted and torn between pillar and post already! Great set up for his adulthood. Language pick here, Dux, is the term for the top student in Brit countries we never use the word Valedictorian.
Author's Response: I tried to set up Severus for his adulthood snarky-meanness by developing and crafting him carefully, haha.
Thank you for the tip--I do appreciate it, and next time I'll know what term to use. Seriously, you guys have as much slang and colloquialisms as we do! It's hard to wade through. :P |

Poor Lucius is always in trouble for something. I bet Glenna will push even harder to get married once Severus is earning money. Will be interested to see what she does next on that one. (It occurred to me that the morning sickness potion might be for her!)
Author's Response: I know, Lucius can't get a break, can he? Poor guy...poor rich guy, haha. Something is about to happen soon to Nott, and it opens a huge can of worms with Glenna and Severus. :P |

Lucius is a devious one! I loved the whole chicken scene! I wonder if Lily and James are up to no good. Mmmm...
Author's Response: Lucius is indeed devious and clever. Lily and James are hapless pawns, lol. |

Weren't James and Sirius training to be Aurors for a while? I forget if it's canon or fanon, or maybe extra-canon. If so, they both must have gotten the N.E.W.T.s for that program? Very realistic, to have Glenna picking at Lily like a scab. Lucius is a little too cool, giving advice to others when he isn't quite following that advice himself.
Author's Response: The books never said what happened to the Marauders, except that they joined the Order of the Phoenix. So I assume they did not go for Auror training.
LOL--yes, Glenna, being who she is, can't resist picking at Lily, whom she can't help but see as a rival, despite Severus' protestations.
Lucius, as much as I love him, does most everything with an eye as to how it will affect him. Like suggesting Nott take his dad home then go back to school--if Nott were questioned, Malfoy's name might come up. |

Poor Glenna. Sometimes the one we like is completely wrong for us. She should pay better attention to the way Severus chases Lily and take the lesson. That Lucius did all right for himself. He's really in a bit of a quandry even if he doesn't realize it. If he's going to use Dark Magic he can't really fault the Dark Lord, yet he hates working for him.
Author's Response: Yeah, poor Glenna. If it weren't for that blasted love potion, Severus might have been able to fully commit to Glenna, but it always held him back. And his life is kind of in a mess right now, so I can see him not wanting a wife and kids, but I see her side, too--she fears it will never happen.
Lucius sometimes goes too far, as evidenced by the Imperius to get what he wanted. I guess when you have tools at your disposal, it is too tempting not to use them. |

Oh oh, Glenna surely won't just let it go. Bet she'll use her sneaky Slytherin wiles to get what she wants. Severus better watch out!!
Author's Response: No, Glenna won't let it go. She has been raised to believe she ought to get married, and she wants a family...Severus is not ready for that. Dynamite, anyone? LOL |

Lucius, if you'd had your wits about you, you'd have asked your half-blood friend Severus to do the shopping for you. Or at least to come along as a guide. It couldn't be that hard to sneak him out of Hogwarts for an hour.
Author's Response: If Lucius had asked for Severus' help, it wouldn't have been nearly as fun for us to watch. Besides, Lucius thinks he is proving something to the Dark Lord by mingling with Muggles. It might even be construed as disobedience if he didn't do it alone--you never know with Voldy. ;p |

Lucius Apparated all the way across the Atlantic with a concussion? Surely Voldie would have ordered a low-ranking Death Eater to take him back home.
Author's Response: It's not a concussion, but that is a valid point. Even though Voldy is not exactly the nurturing type, he might have told one of his minions to see Malfoy home. :P |

Aw that's sweet of Abraxas to take care of Eileen... about 25 years too late, but it was sweet. That little conversation between the Black boys will end up being too little, too late, too, but at least they will have had that conversation.
Author's Response: Abraxas feels bad about leaving Eileen that way. He'd have helped her out long ago, but he knew her husband wouldn't allow it.
Yeah, Sirius and Regulus had an up and down relationship, but the few good talks they have are worth remembering. |
