Reviews for Avada Kedavra

I'm glad this is not it because this doesn't have the happy ending you promised. Is Dumbledore going to interfere and manipulate to keep them apart? I think Snape should get laid regularly by a good woman and Charity fills the bill. Let's hurry through all the angst and get him to that point. You know how I hate angst.

Author's Response: No I think Dumbledore would not go so far as to try and separate them. But even though he tells everyone he trusts Severus, I think at this point he is actually a little worried himself about what might happen with Severus when Voldemort returns. I promise it won't be long until Severus and Charity can share some sweetness again, next chapter in fact! And although there will be a little more angst along the way, the ending WILL be happy.

I've just finished the first chapter. I didn't read the last part, I want to ignore the situation that Rowling gave us and get on to your happy ending. I loved your description of their waltz together. My grandfather taught me how to waltz when I was about 7 years old. Just about every Saturday night my grandparents would go to a German style dance hall to dance and enjoy an evening with their friends. I can remember him coming to get me from where I was playing with the other kids there with their families and teaching me the steps until I had them down. he taught me the waltz (Vienese style), the polka, the schottische, and the Rheinlander. I'm can still dance a pretty good waltz and polka, but I've forgotten the steps to the schottische and the Rheinlander.

Author's Response: I'm really glad you decided to read the story, even if you could not bear to read the sad ending. I always really value your feedback. I'm really impressed that your learned traditional German dances! I have never even heard of the Schottiche and Reheinlander, even though I took dance lessons in Germany as a teenager. I think they no longer teach them, and it's probably a very old tradition that is sadly going to be lost.

I'm SO glad you decided to continue with this story. I read the first chapter some time ago, & meant to leave a review, but then didn't... so it is great to learn that it wasn't just a 'one-shot' & to now be able to ignore the original canon-compliant ending! This is truly lovely - I particularly like the last line where Charity cries for the 'gentle and sensitive man with the softly smouldering eyes and the witty sense of humour.' That pretty much sums up my own thoughts of Severus Snape. I'm not reviewing much these days, but this gentle, well-written story has tempted me back out of fanfic 'retirement'. Please update soon; this fic/pairing has such great potential. :-)

Author's Response: Hi Sevvy, thank you so much for reviewing. I'm glad I managed to tempt you back, and hope that you'll stay on for the rest of the story. Atm I have about five more chapters planned, and there will be more of that "gentle and sensitive man". :-)

A well-written story. Snape's misgivings of becoming involved with anyone are realistic and understandable, as is his unfortunate treatment of her Charity afterwards. The final moments of her life and his kindness to her are touching.

Author's Response: Thanks for your review. I'm working on an update to this story, an alternative ending exploring what might have happened if he had not turned her away...

What a lovely, moving story. You captured Severus very well, and gave a face and a soul to Charity Burbage. The ending made me cry...the way he eased her into death was very poignant Well done!

Author's Response: Thanks for your kind review! I'm really moved that it made you cry.

This was so moving and such a great idea for a pairing. I like to imagine her last minutes comforted in some way.

Author's Response: Thanks hexgirl! So do I!

This was really great. A different and unusual pairing that still managed to stick to canon events. Well done!

Author's Response: Thanks, stargirl! I'm glad you liked it!

Oh, that's creepy. It's good that he can offer her some amount of comfort, after everything, though.

Author's Response: Hi Rose, thanks for your review! I felt I had to do this for poor Charity after what JKR did to her.
