Reviews for To Dance by the Light of the Moon

I felt like slapping the golden trio, but Luna and Minerva did as good a job I suppose. At least Severus has recognised his feelings, and what I like most about ths is that-- as one of your other reviewers pointed out-- there's nothing soppy or slushy about either Severus or Luna, a thing that turns me off a lot of stories. Off to read what I'm sad to see is the last chapter.

Author's Response: Yeah, I must admit I enjoy giving them a good slap on the chops every now and again. Hope you enjoy the rest. Scar

Well, this chapter turned out to the the perfect antidote to a gloomy, boring Monday morning. I even laughed out loud. Loved hearing what everyone is wearing to the Ball. Now, will Severus go, and if so, just what will he wear? Delicious speculation abounds.

Author's Response: Thanks for that, Stella. Hope the last chapter doesn't disappoint. Thanks again. Scaranda

I loved the way Minerva and Luna slapped down the golden trio and Severus just sat back and enjoyed. When Harry addresed Severus as "Snape" and Luna corrected him to Professor Snape and then said he could call her Luna---that was classic Luna. I notice though that you've let us see inside Snape's head, and Minerva's and even a little of Lupin's, but we haven't had a peek of Luna's yet. So enjoying this.

Author's Response: Peek inside Luna's head? Oh, no, I didn't want to scare anyone too much. I don't think Minerva would be at all impressed by the show of bad manners and the superioty complexes she was presented with from the three. Apart from that, I don't think she wanted blood on the walls if Severus took matters into his own hands. Thanks so much, once again. Scaranda

Oh, I love Minerva here: "‘This is my office, my dear,’ Minerva went on, even more patronisingly than Hermione, ‘and as such, I would consider it a favour if you would allow me to finish the meeting I have with my staff, before engaging in the few minutes of Hogwarts's time I have allocated to Mr Potter.’" Hermione was such a condescending and patronizing pain in the a--, and the other two were just as annoying. Minerva handled them well until Harry dropped his bombshell before they left. I love the idea of Hagrid and Flitwick trading identities for the Ball and the wolf in sheep's clothing too. How can he be so blind? If she came all the way from her work in the Andes just to be his assistant after Lupin sent her that owl to say he was going to hire one, she must be as besotted with him as he is with her and she must have been that way for some time. I think she really has it all under her control, no matter what Minerva and Lupin think, and she's playing him like a fish (and not a puffer fish, I remember Homer Simpson's encounter with one) before she reels him in and traps him in the net. After all shooting fish in a barrel is no fun.

Author's Response: Well, to be fair to him, he didn't know that she came all the way from the Andes, or, in fact, that Lupin sent her an owl. She just turned up with the "Daily Prophet" and her box. I always liked Minerva in the books, and while she watches, and even adds her own little touches, she doesn't blunder through people's lives, manoeuvring them to her own purposes (like D'bore). Of course, Luna is really the only one in control, but only to an extent. Thanks again. Scaranda

Ha, ha, it wasn't Lupin's _cigarette_ that was fouling the space. I'm a little disappointed that Minerva and some of the other women have been more involved in making things happen than I originally thought, although her lack of success is amusing. At this rate, if Severus ever does actually admit his feelings, there will be enough doubt about what happened that Minerva won't be able to claim she caused it.

Author's Response: Oh, so disappointed that I disappointed you. Minerva and Aurora haven't really done anything, Rose, but watch and speculate, although Minerva has had her hand on the rudder just to steady the ship the last couple of chapters, but it was well on course when she did so. Thanks so much for writing. Scaranda
