Reviews for To Dance by the Light of the Moon

Just loved that chapter. The bit with Lucius was marvellous. He just didn't have an idea of how to respond.

Author's Response: Thanks, Titaniafey. Glad you enjoyed, and hope you enjoy the rest. Scaranda

Oh, Scaranda! This is just so much fun. You have managed to keep everyone pretty much in character and yet presented them in an ever so slightly warped way. I don't know where to begin on what I'm enjoying most, so I'll just leave it at enjoying it all. Crease-Toed Bloopers indeed!

Author's Response: Oh thanks, Stella. Good to see you onboard. I hope you enjoy the rest. Thanks again. Scaranda

I do see that Remus is quite a dark horse in all this. I'm starting to get a frisson of something from him, but I'm not sure at whom it's directed, exactly. It's lovely that Aurora can't stop calling Luna "call me Luna". She's got a serious bug in an uncomfortable place, hasn't she? I cracked up when Snape had to hex his hair into place. Witches might charm or transfigure their hair, but our Snape has to hex his to get it to obey! Meanwhile Luna just walks through everything as if it was some other world she secretly lives on, guilelessly making the comments that make people either laugh or shrink uncomfortably.

Author's Response: Well, he wouldn't put on one of Lockhart's potions, now would he. He doesn't seem like the Mr Sleakeazy type to me. Luna's just strolling through everyone like a Hippogriff in a china shop. Thanks, Rose, I always value your comments. Scaranda

Brilliant... loved the way she 'got him off the hook' with Minerva and Remus. I can just see his face when she told him about Remus and the 'misprint'. And the bit with Lucius was perfect-- there really was no response he could have given.

Author's Response: No, there wasn't, was there. Yet he's remarkably able to gloss over these little faux pas. Thanks for commenting again. Scaranda

I notice that not everything I had written showed up in my review. While that first line Luna spoke to Lucius may have had me rolling with mirth, this one had me ROTFLMAO: ‘Oh good, I see you’ve got your own copy,’ Luna said, nodding to where Malfoy was still clutching the magazine. ‘But do please call me Luna. I wonder, Lucius, as you’re here anyway, if I could ask if you would support the “Quibbler’s” next expedition to the Andes to search for Crease-Toed Bloopers?’ she said. ‘In view of the fact that you’ve had so much free front page publicity lately,’ she added quickly, as Malfoy’s open mouth snapped shut, quite bereft, as its owner was, of a suitable reply. ‘Oh good, I see you’ve got your own copy,’ Luna said, nodding to where Malfoy was still clutching the magazine. ‘But do please call me Luna. As I said before, George & Gracie would be proud of you and 'Luna Logic'. I wonder if Sev & Luna would think about taking their act on tour? They could fill the Palladium, be a big hit in Vegas, and take New York by storm at Radio City Music Hall.

Author's Response: A kind of roadshow? Perhaps with Severus as a conjuror, pulling rabbits out of a hat, and Luna as his lovely assistantt, in a sequinned leotard and a Brussels sprout necklace? Hmmm. I suspect Severus's demands would outshine any prima dona of the performing arts. Thanks again. Glad you're still enjoying it. Scaranda

The recipe for fun at Hogwarts: add Luna and let her stur things up with no help from you. He seems to be fully smitten, he regretted giving her the time off she requested in the last chapter because she wouldn't be there for him that night, and now he regrets his words and tone when she returned the beaker for the Wolfsbane potion. I don't think he has to worry about that though, she will still be coming to him every morning to walk with him to breakfast regardless. Luna learned while she was a Hogwarts student to let the things the other students said to her roll off her back like water on a duck's back, and I'm sure she felt his sarcasm in her potions classes was never directed personally at her. I loved the way she handled Lucius. This is pure Gracie amd it had me rolling with mirth: ‘Oh, hello, Lucius,’ Luna called brightly along the gloomy stone passage, as Severus groaned inwardly. ‘How is your head? Four tins of cat food must have been quite sore. I know that, because a cat jumped on my head once, and it had only eaten half a tin.’ George & Gracie would be proud of you.

Author's Response: Thnaks so much, Trickie Woo. I don't think Luna would know how to take offence, not unless it was deliberately hurtful. I must catch up with Gracie, by the way; I haven't got around to that. Thanks again. Scaranda
