Reviews for In His Name

Eleni 2011.04.26 - 04:41PM 13: Chapter Twelve: From This Path, Shall Be No Turning Signed
what a gruesome faith if it cannot be reversed, and Slughorn saying Severus name again and again, no wonder Minerva paled

Author's Response: I can almost see the words forming above Minerva's head - "Horace, shut the bloody hell UP !!!" In fact...

Oh, poor Draco! And Horace, spouting Severus's name like a fountain, likely drawing him into a dark place. Except I have hopes for both patients, now.

Author's Response: I suspect Minerva is close to throttling our poor unwitting Horace at this point and I'm sure she's about ready for another heated conversation with Dumbly's portrait as well !! Ah, but now we must bring our two favorite Slytherins into the same realm of existence...Not an easy task, I assure you...

I read the entirety of this tale in one day. I was taken immediately with the narrative. You have talent and a unique voice. Thanks so much for this much, even if it goes unfinished. I would so love to see the hero pass through the transformation and regain himself again.

Author's Response: Oh my - I must truly hang my head in shame - I don't think I ever saw this lovely review and I'm terribly remiss in saying thank you !! Please be at ease - the tale is not abandoned (no pun intended...) New chapters have been posted and I hope you'll continue the journey with us !!

I was so sad that this story simply stopped one day like so many do. I hoped for your highest good that better things had taken your time. I am ensnared by the story and it is with much anticipation that I wait for Severus to reach his healing of body and soul. thankyou

Author's Response: What a lovely and kind review. This past year was truly one of great joys and great sorrows - all in the same span of months. But the story never left me - and eventually I began to find my way back. Perhaps there is a parallel running with Neirin... who can say...

Oh, no, poor Draco... will he go where Severus is?

Author's Response: Draco certainly has a journey of his own - particularly, in his perceptions Severus has passed through the Veil...

The motto of Hogwarts might be to never tickle a sleeping dragon, yet they did exactly that by the fire, didn't they, talking about him as if he wasn't even there? Somehow it was the right thing, too, since it incited him to let the dragon out of it's lair for a few moments. I expected Hagrid to trip over not saying his name for a few seconds, but Hagrid is amazingly canny at the right moments. Working with hurt creatures has taught him much, I guess.

Author's Response: No longer under ol Dumbly's benevolent control, Hagrid's true wizardly nature is becoming much more evident - and he takes the responsibiltiy of Secret Keeper and Guardian very seriously. And Neirin - far too powerful in HIS wizardly nature not to continue fighting his inprisonment... even though he doesn't understand that's what he's doing...

Hi, thanks for the fantastic update. It's well worth the wait. We get to see more of severus progress from the curse. He still has a long painful path ahead but it's good to see that he has many more people who are willing to help him throuh his torment. I have so many questions but I know that they will be answered in due time. Thanks again for the update I'll be waiting for the next one and all the others to follow.

Author's Response: Was on line and saw your review pop up. I'm feeling a bit concerned - this chapter was so long (almost 14,000 words) so the admins were forced to have me split it into two chapters which show up as Chapters 11 and 12 but which both have the same title "And If These Dreams Be Real?" and are actually all part of Chapter 11 - so now I'm concerned that people may have skipped to 12 and missed all of the start of 11 - ye gods, mass confusion... But I'm delighted to see you're still with me !!

I AM SO GLAD FOR ANOTHER UPDATE. VERY GOOD READING. I HAVE BEEN WATCHING THIS STORY FOR SOME TIME, BUT I DONT SEE A WHOLE LOT OF REVIEWS LATELY. USUALLY MEANS RL IS ENCROCHING ON PLEASURE, SO I THOUGHT I WOULD THROW IN MY THOUGHTS. ENTHRALLING STORY & EXCELLENTLY WRITTEN. YOUR TWIST & TURNS OF PLOT ARE VERY ENJOYABLE. NEVER A DULL MOMENT HERE! PLEASE BE ASSURED YOUR READERS ARE STILL HERE. HONEYDUKES FINEST TO YOU! JIM

Author's Response: I'm delighted to know there are still thos readers willing to follow the tale - as you say, RL does have a way of diverting one from the course... but hopefully those most loyal will rejoin this quest for Neirin's soul.

Please forgive me if I sounded demanding or pushy in my last review. I just didn't want to becomes emotionally involved (yes, that's rather melodramatic I know) in another story that will never be finished. I can completely understand how real life can be and it definitely is the priority here! Again I am thouroughly impressed! This is simply amazing! Severus is in quite the perdicament isn't he? And him being addicted to those terrible potions on top. Substance abuse is an uphill battle on it's own but when coupled with total blindness and this Abandonment it seems like that poor man doesn't have a chance. But then look at Gareth, Minerva and Hagrid. I really hope they can help him. He really needs them even if he wouldn't admit it. I feel sorry for Severus, especially when Gareth was settling him in. That's sad. I can't wait to read more...now if only my work schedul would cooperate and allow me time to do so!!

Author's Response: No worries, gentle reader !!! I'm delighted you're joining our journey. This tale promises to be an epic endeavor and there are those moments when I think "gods, what possessed me?" but then the muse beckons and will not be denied and off I plunge into the next chapter as she whispers in my ear. More of Severus' tale must be told, she reminds me, and who would dare deny either the Muse or the Potions master? Certainly not I.....

All I can say is WOW! I am blown away. You paint us such a vivid picture there is little need for imagination as each sentence can be easily pictured! Hagrid was amazing here. We don't really see much interaction between the two characters in the books and I am very interested to see it here. This is going to be an amazing tale! It looks as though Severus has quite the battle ahead of him and I am glad he has such powerful allies. I have the feeling he is going to need them! Is this story abandoned or on hiatus? I noticed it hasn't been updated for a while. I just was curious before I delve deeper into this tale.

Author's Response: Ah, greetings once again, gentle reader! I do hope you will indeed delve - the tale is not abandoned. My RL has taken many convoluted turnings and I have heavy family obligations but tis the writing which keeps me sane. As we speak, I am toiling away at Chapter 11 so do come along !!
