Reviews for Star Sisters

Agnus Castus 2009.12.13 - 12:08PM 36: XXXVI: Healing and Feeling Signed
The closing scene with the kitten was very funny. Brava!

Author's Response: Everyone who goes "naaaw" at the thought of Snape with a kitten, raise their hands now! *raises hands*

It would be a shame if Jack dies before he's come out of the closet...

Author's Response: It's interesting you think Jack is gay. May we ask what led you to that conclusion? We're just curious...

At times, he was so disgusted with himself that he could not stand being close to any other human being lest he poison them with his self-hatred. Lovely insight into Snape's character... and what a beautiful, tender chapter. The Star Sisters' friendship problems, and their resolution, were conveyed with deeply-personal honesty. Very, very touching. I'm glad Morgana is grieving, and I'm glad that Snape made a difference. I like your Snape - he's in character, but also showing some of his emotions and a little of his softness, whilst at the same time being dark, brooding and sarcastic. Great job, ladies.

Author's Response: Thank you, that's a huge compliment as that is exactly how we hoped he came across: still "Snapey" but with his caring side coming through. Snape the Protector is such a lovely image, after all. Thanks for sticking with us, we hope you make it through til the end.

Wow - that was one hell of a chapter ladies! I like the idea of Lucius managing to poison her with blackroot infected trinkets - good idea, and well thought out. Snape's resolve has been tested to the limits here - he did well to stop things between him and Morgana before they reached the point of no return. I need a little lie down down, I've been overcome with the vapours.

Author's Response: Even Snape is just a man. And we all know he wears frock coats to cover up his trouser snake ;)

"She had seen pure lust in his eyes earlier that night, and it had rendered her defenceless." I love that line, and I know just how she feels. The image alone renders me defenceless. Another great chapter, this is really drawing me in. A little bird has told me something about a library chapter later on, but I refuse to skip, so I am determined to get to it by the end of the weekend.

Author's Response: We're glad the plot is starting to ensnare you. As for the infamous library chapter - it's no coincidence it's had the highest hit rate out of the lot! We think people must be coming back for seconds... and thirds! We'd be interested to know what you think *innocent whistle*

Agnus Castus 2009.11.26 - 05:10PM 31: XXXI: How to Handle a Snake Signed
This was a lovely, heart-breaking chapter, with beautiful insights into your girls' characteristics. Snape sounds like he knows what he's talking about... He knows what he needs (or, needed) and I can't help but wonder just how many people have the strength of character to grab someone firmly by the neck, and hang on no matter how much they struggle. It is, of course, a demonstration of love, yet it requires a large amount of robustness to handle the risk of rejection. Can Charis be strong enough to take that risk? I hope so.

Author's Response: It shows Snape's depth of feeling for the girls that he was so honest with Charis, and by doing so, he revealed a little of his vulnerability to her too. As for whether she is strong enough to follow his advice, she is no Gryffindor, but she has a big heart all the same.

Now that's what I call a plan. Poor Severus, he will be driven to distraction if he has to watch Lucius and Morgana getting it on. What is Dumbledore thinking? And I just hope the chosen one doesn't get into any more scrapes while all this is going on, or Severus will have to split himself in two. Oh two Snapes!! Imagine the possibilities!

Author's Response: As long as he's split in the right place ... heheh

Bad boy Severus! Oh Damn that necklace! I think I need alcohol before I read the next chapter - that and a large fan with which to waft myself. I'm wondering what the Alice Cooper song was - 'Poison' would be fitting - Lol!

Author's Response: That necklace will prove to be very useful... That's all we're saying!

How on earth is she being posessed? I am very intrigued - they seem to have discarded the ring as the means for Lucius to access Morgana's mind, yet it would make sense if the ring was somehow allowing Lucius to control her. And why does he want to harm her if he wants her to produce an heir? I suppose I'd better read on, rather than ask questions which are not going to be answered.

Author's Response: Lucius has many tricks up his sleeve. Thankfully, so does dear Severus.

Very well written, and sensitively handled. As you know, I didn't like Lucius much before this incident, now I despise him completely. For once, I'm glad that Voldemort will be the one to make him pay for his actions. I felt sad at the thought of Morgana's memories being used as evidence against Lucius, simply because Muggle women do not have the same ability to provide unequivocal proof of rape. Nevertheless, her emotional scars will be the same. On another note, I adored Snape in this chapter. He's become so tender towards his 'girls' and I adored the way he demonstrated this - through actions and humour, rather than any direct admission - just how I would imagine him to be. I've actually fallen in love with Snape in this chapter. I've never been in love with him before, not even in my own writing or in canon. I can't think of higher praise than that!

Author's Response: Wow, that is such high praise! We have said from the very start that Snape would redeem himself, as he always does. He still has the capacity to be harsh and cruel, but the girls bring out the softer side of him, that side he almost never gets to show. We're over the moon you are enjoying the story so much, and thank you for such high praise. Hope you will enjoy the rest as well.
