And this time I want to kick Neville right in the backside. Seeing the familiar plot from Severus' POV makes me understand much better how dire times must have been in Hogwarts while the "Golden Trio" hunted down the horcruxes. He's figure it out and eventually he may even grow up. The canon gives us snippets of what was going on at the castle, and I read those bits I was put in mind of the siege of Atlanta as described in Gone with the Wind, and then after the war ended and Atlanta was under martial law.
