I have a bone to pick with you! I thought this story was supposed to be getting less sad; we are now on Chapter 13 & it's still springing tears in my eyes! Don't kids have such perception about them. My youngest son is 11 (the same age as Eydis in this) & I swear he's going on 120 in terms of wisdom & knowing/saying the right things! Still reading & still loving this though, despite my hopes for a happier Severus...:-)
Author's Response: Sorry, sevvy, sorry, sorry, sorryyyyy (btw: snort!) Severus will get happier, but not 'happy-happy', if you know what I mean. Hey, it's me you're talking to. You know I don't do happy-happy. (Unless someone makes me.) Please go on reading, please *puppy eyes* |

'...because your Daddy has no taste whatsoever when it comes to sweet things.' wrote Cassandra. I beg to differ! I am loving seeing the sweetness in Severus in this story, brought out by the intensity of his love for his beautiful daughter; the image of her mother. But you've cleverly managed to keep him so Snape-ish at the same time; just loved Minerva's reaction to the kitten being possible snake food - she needs to take a closer look at the man in black as do so many who only ever portray him as one-dimentional!
Author's Response: Snape and cake! Now that is almost as nice as 'Snape and kittens' ;-) Wouldn't put it past him to feed the kitten to the snake in the end. Na, he wouldn't. As Poppy said earlier in the story, Severus Snape is a softie at heart. Thanks for the lovely comment. /M |

You know I've reviewed this elsewhere and you also know how good I think it is; I repeat that it is becoming a wonderful, human and moving story :-)
Author's Response: Thank you, Sevvy. Thank you very much. /M |

This is continuing to not be an easy read; it really is such a sad tale. But I'm glad Severus has people around him to share in his grief and of course his beautiful daughter to help him carry on.
Author's Response: It will get better, I promise. Lovely to be hearing from you. Hope you're doing alright. /M |

I am glad you did not make the funeral to be more harrowing than it actually was, and I'm glad Severus found some small comfort with those that attended.
Author's Response: Cassandra wouldn't have want people sobbing at her grave, now would she? Cheers, sis! |

I am glad that you decided to revise the Yule edition because that was a lovely piece and of course fits effortlessly into this story.
Author's Response: Thank you, luv. /M |

It has been a struggle to read this chapter trying to remain impassive. I hope that next chapters will bring some little joy to father and daughter, because certainly this is not a loss that can be overcome so easily. BTW, I hate you when you make me move at this level, you know it? And I can't even write coherently in English! Next time I'll review directly in Italian. Hugs, little pest.
Author's Response: Dearest Memory, I'm so glad you found the time to leave a note. Father and daughter have quite some issues to resolve before either of them can move on to 'happy days'. But they'll come, I promise! And please do NOT review in Italian! LOL |

Oh dear, even though I knew this was coming, why did you do this to me? I'm so glad that I bought that extra box of tissues the other day; I'm sure going to need them now! (And as for your dedication at the end of this chapter; I'm not even going to go there...how terribly sad.)
However, just as I also guessed, you have written this beautifully. My heart goes out to Severus but, as I discovered long ago, it's no good asking ourselves why these things happen & what we have done to deserve them; the simple fact is bad things happen to good people but life can and does go on. You cannot see the light if you do not suffer the dark... Well done for this; you should feel very proud of having produced such a strong, moving piece of writing.
Author's Response: Nothing personal, sevvy dear. :-) Life isn't fair, and Severus has known that for a long time. But still, naturally, he curses fate and questions it. And as you said so nicely, we need to suffer the dark to see the light. Thank you for your praise. It means a lot to me. /M |

Ok so you made me cry. not cool. Iol. I can only expect more tears as this story moves along.
Author's Response: Uh, tears in chapter 7 already. Nope, not good. Have some hankies ready for the next couple of chapters. But there will be some quite funny parts later on. Promise. Thanks for reading and leaving a note. It's much appreciated. /M |
