Reviews for A Spy's Fate

Trickie Woo 2008.12.15 - 10:28PM 20: Chapter 20: Sickness Signed
Well, to begin with the old SOB is most at fault. If he had any sense at all (except for his sense of his own ego) he would have figured in some adaptabilty and flexibility into his plan. He thought he was God and that only his plan was perfect and nothing else mattered but bringing it into fruition. He didn't even care enough to go see Bree after Severus told him she was in St. Mungo's. Both Severus and Bree are acting in a manner that will do them no good at all, but she is acting more stupidly than he is. Didn't she hear that he said he still loved her, but he needed time to come to terms with his feelings of betrayal? She was behaving in the same manner the Severus had always done, never seeing the positive side of anything. Of course, it was the old SOB who betrayed him, not really Bree. I'm sure he will soon realize that. Now she has left Britain and he has no idea that she has gone or where she went. The healer told her there were two doses of the potion and to use them wisely; to me, that means she will be introuble with her health again because I doubt if she will even think about using them. I know you will always give me a happy ending, so I'm sure he will eventually find her before it's too late and they will live happily ever after.

Author's Response: This was a bit of a hard chapter to write. For me, I would have loved to see them kiss and make up right then and there, but that wouldn't be very realistic. So, instead they act stupidly. ;) Bree did hear that Severus loves her, but she's too hurt to give it heed. She thinks he's letting her down easily or something. Dumbledore is Dumbledore, of course. You nailed it on the head with his Godlike feelings and inability to be flexible. Severus will come to his senses soon. Then he has to figure out where she is!

I love the way he tosses off his concern as if it was all Dumbledore's idea. She is a bit off, too, in that she dashes off on assignment as if she hadn't another concern in the world. If they ever get back together, they will deserve each other.

Author's Response: They're both so hurt, they don't want to concentrate on it. Bree runs off to hide from her hurt. Severus just ignores his concern, as it will only serve to make him even more miserable. Is that even possible, though?
