For being such a smart man, Severus is incredibly stupid. It was nice of him to offer to marry her, and good that he wants his child to have a happy life, but come on! He can't get her out of his mind and wants to Obliviate himself? That just screams dunderhead to me! Maybe she'd be better with Sirius? (I kid, I kid.) Author's Response: Thank you! We can't be happy with _every_ choice he makes. He IS a dunderhead about these things. Since he's sure it's not love he thought it best to Obliviate. Failing that option, he will go for what he expects will be a loveless marriage.
