Reviews for Two Sides Against the Middle

I loved how Emily offset Umbridge in this. Too funny. I'm sure Dolores keeps a careful eye out for Snape, so he'll definitely have to be more careful if he's to teach Margo anything more.

Author's Response: She's sort of been redirected as far as that goes, I think. Too much is about to happen, anyway. I haven't decided if Dolores will show up again, but I think she's going to develop an unreasonable discomfort about Emily.

Whew, poor thing. I'm surprised she lasted this long without a full breakdown. I loved when Severus said that they'd always shared their troubles and it always eased them. He's so right! And it's nice to see him giving this admonition instead of receiving it. Now back to Sirius ranting. Boo! He gives Emily so little credit.

Author's Response: Thanks again! Boo, Sirius, indeed! He does need to be nicer to Emily. A day is coming... well, that's in a few chapters. ;)

Wow, almost sixty chapters! Whoo hoo! Did I sense a tiny bit of jealousy on Neville's part about Margo and Theodore Nott? Competition is good. Poor Emily. Between having the baby and all the stress with Severus, no wonder the poor thing is given to crying and staring off into space. She should try reading fanfiction. It's very relaxing. Lol!

Author's Response: LOL! I was reading something the other day where a friend made it possible for the heroine's ibook to work at Hogwarts, complete with wireless internet, so she could listen to U2 on a well-known mp3 service. Yes, Neville doesn't think he wants Hope, and doesn't mind rubbing Hannah in her face, but is a bit miffed at the idea of Ted...tune in next time... Thank you for the review!

It's nice to see the relationship between Margo and her Mum solidifying. I liked Emily's suggestions about Margo becoming a prefect. Lol. Black hair and blue eyes... I'd be one of the ones coveting those. Well, my hair is dark brown, close to black, but I've always wanted blue eyes. My eyes are as black as Snape's. As I've gotten older I've learned to appreciate what I have. ;)

Author's Response: We always want what we don't have, don't we? And of course when we're teens, we don't realize that we'll grow out of whatever awkwardness we have or that we'll grow into the attributes that seem blah, now. Poor Margo only knows that her life now is not what she wants... Thanks for the reviews!

Young love indeed. Emily voicing her worries was quite touching. Family is the most important thing, so of course she would be concerned about her loved ones.

Author's Response: Thank you. I've said it before, but I think the beginning of the troubles is harder on Emily than Severus. He finally gets to do what he has known is coming and she has to watch and wait. Hopefully by the time he gets tired of it, she will have a "second wind"...

Me too! Definately fluffy & family- orientated! That's why I'm liking "your" Severus so much - makes such a change from the sadastic bastard most people seem to love & portray him as (even if AR does play him like that & I do like that side aswell!) It's only ill health that's stopped me from having a large family myself (although my two boys are more than enough at times!) Please let us all know when baby no. 7 makes his/her arrival - I think it's a fantastic achievement to have such a family & to be able to produce such amazing stories aswell! :)

Author's Response: Thank you, again. I'll definitely keep everyone updated.

I've just managed to get back into reading your marvellous story again; I don't know how you find time to write such great fiction (from your profile I realise you have 7 children) - how do you do it?! You put those of us who only manage a few short pieces here and there to shame! I really love your Severus in this story & the way he & Emily are of such comfort to each other, especially during these now so uncertain times. I look forward to more as I get back 'on track' with all that's happened!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! It's not seven yet, the new one has me resting a lot these days, which is what gives the time, I guess. I'm glad you've enjoyed my story. I worry that it's overly fluffy and family-oriented, but then I'm a fluffy, family-oriented kind of girl.

Well, I guess Hope just isn't Neville's type. At least they agree on that fact! Heh, heh, Severus' initial reaction and then subsequent one to Sirius' book was entertaining.

Author's Response: Yeah, she's not his type, but it didn't keep him from checking her out... and on the book, it's different when you think your kids have read it, LOL...

I'd never thought of the 'reveal' of Grimmauld Place. I quite enjoyed that. As for Emily's wishes to stay neutral, I like that it's because of a long line of beliefs, not just her own.

Author's Response: Thanks, again! I think the reveal is more or less the same as JKR describes when Harry first went there. After that, he always saw the house. I think Emily's neutrality is somewhat for show and perhaps out of respect for her profession. She's certainly not a fan of the DEs.

I missed quite a few chapters over Christmas, but it was fun to get to catch up on the story. I thought I would hate this part, but Emily is so wonderful that I have found this part of the story to be richer than i could have imagined. Well done.

Author's Response: Thank you! Of course, the canon gets a bit darker from this point, so my story will, too.
