That was a really interesting scene with the Death Eaters. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Author's Response: Thanks, Johnbly. I can't wait to see what happens next too! Thanks for taking the time to read and review, Scaranda |

The way you use words is masterful Scaranda. The description of Riddle as a puppet master was great, and the way Severus couldn't back down and still managed to do so with such grace. Great stuff
Author's Response: Thanks so much, Titaniafey. So glad you're enjoying it. As to Severus backing down, I doubt he knows he did so! Thanks again, Scaranda |

It was sweet, the way they all conspired to protect Lucretia. Snape got a bit of a just dessert in that he was kept out of it, even though he should have been the most interested in protecting her. He seems to have dodged a bit of a sticky situation of his own, though...Nothing came of the overtures Riddle made toward him, at least on this occasion, right?
Author's Response: You're right, Rose, he got off the hook for once. I think he's stinging a little that the rest of them protected Lucretia in a way he hadn't thought of. It's a failing of his though (his only one, I hasten to add), that no one can do anything as well as he can do it himself. Thanks so much again, Scaranda. |

Another great chapter with your trademark little descriptions so beautifully done. I wonder if Harry is going to be born now that James has come into the equation and if so, if he's the one that Riddle seeks out.
Author's Response: Ahh, now that would be telling, Steel. (Truth be told, I haven't worked that bit out yet.) Thanks again for your support, Scaranda |

So glad you've updated again, I was beginning to get withdrawl symptoms. Back to back chapters too! I love the way you're writing this and pulling everyone together, even the most unlikely combinations but I don't think Severus will ever be content with Lucretia. Steel
Author's Response: Well, Andromeda's always hovering so near to the surface, isn't she. But we shall see what we shall see. Thanks again, Scaranda. |

And of course he's going to do what Ethyl says, because now that he's "killed" her she has greater sway over him. Richly done, right from the first paragraph, which sets the tone quite well.
Author's Response: Thanks so much as always, Rose. I'm always interested to read your observations, and indeed your speculations. Thanks again, Scaranda |

Part of me feels bad for Lucretia. It's as though she doesn't think she deserves better. But part of me knows it's really a good match and the participants need to just play it out.
Author's Response: Interesting observation, Rose. I think too, that Lucretia needs the security of knowing that she is with one in whom Lucius places so much trust, and that could really only be Severus. Thanks so much for reviewing, and for staying with it, Scaranda. |

This is a great story. I don;t know how you're going to sweep it all up but I can't wait to find out. I've a bad feeling Lucius is in trouble though. Thanks for sharing. Steel.
Author's Response: Thanks so much for that, Steel. As to sweeping it all up, I seem to keep finding things the brush has missed. Thanks again for your support and comments, Scaranda.

Damn, damn, damn! I was yelling in outrage for Snape. Stupid Ministry! Stupid Potter! Stupid Crouch!
Very interesting to have Narcissa step up for Severus. Oh what a tangled web you weave ...
Author's Response: Tangled web? Yeah, I'm just hoping I can find my way out of it ... perhaps I'll consult with Ethel. Many thanks for reviewing and for staying with it, Scaranda.

Oh, how rich! That suits Narcissa's needs quite neatly and gets Lucius off the hook, assuming they really don't want to get married. I love those two in this story, though. I look forward to reading what Lucretia's story is.
Author's Response: Thanks for that, Rose, and for keeping reading. It's the first time I've written any sort of sympathy into Narcissa, so I'm rather enjoying her too. Many thanks again, Scaranda.

Got to love Lucius in this, Severus is worried about everything and everyone and he's worried about wearing the same shoes two days running. Great chapter again. Steel.
Author's Response: Ah yes, but that's Lucius, always with an eye to the important things in life, like the colour of one's socks. Many thanks for your continued support, Scaranda.

Oh, that Lucius! He figures out the obvious part and looks for someone else to make it work. There are so many irons in this fire, I wonder how they will work out. From what I've seen, Lucretia/Severus would be a good match, but we don't really know her story, yet, do we?
Author's Response: That Lucius indeed! He's such fun to write though; he can be politically incorrect and get away with it, passing it off for sheer self-importance, and yet be as vulnerable underneath his gloss as one cares to make him. Keep watching, Rose; Lucretia Malfoy's story is about to unfold. As to Severus ... will he or won't he? I'll keep you guessing there. Many thanks again, Scaranda.

This is getting really quite exciting now although i can't think where it's going. I wonder if Lucretia will make Severus forget about Andromeda, and if Narcissa is all she seems to be or if she has some kind of agenda of her own.
Author's Response: Questions without answers just yet, Arcticvixen, (great name, by the way) but they'll be along soon. Many thanks for continuing to enjoy the story, Scaranda.

What a treat to have back to back updates! I didn't see most of that coming, with Abraxus having an older brother. Lucretia has a quicker mind than she appeared, at first. She needed a chance to spread her wings, perhaps. By the time she and Severus would marry, she would certainly be able to keep up with him.
Author's Response: Thanks so much, as always, Rose. I think Lucretia was very reluctant to come out of her shell until she satisfied herself that she had not just swapped one prison for another of a different kind. That apart, her experience of men had left her with no reason to trust them, wanting, as they had in the past, nothing from her that she was willing to give. Will she keep up with Severus? Yes, I think so ... but will he keep up with her? Many thanks again, Rose, I value your views and comments greatly, Scaranda.
