*Tear* So sad...Severus' death always gets to me! This was beautifully done and an enjoyable albeit sad read.

Author's Response: Thank you; it burned me to write it.

Wandering around the site on a snowy Spring day in Denver - supposed to be working but drifting through thoughts of magic instead - and lo and behold I found this - a jewel of beauty. Thank you for the gift. I must find a way to return to my own story... life has been getting in the way lately - but Severus calls !!

Author's Response: Thank you. It hurt to write: I hope it also healed.

That was breathtaking. Wow, thanks! I've had a break from fanfiction for sometime and this is a good way back :)

Author's Response: Thank you! What a nice compliment.

What a lovely little gem of a story! It is a perfect illustration of Blake's poem, and a very good explanation of Snape's last words.

Author's Response: Thank you! The "endless night/sweet delight" part of the quotation slid into my mind re: Severus/Lily, so I went and read the whole poem. And when I read the last stanza: well, I had no rest (almost literally) until I wrote this.

Your usual thought provoking work. Nicely done.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm enjoying your latest too--please continue.

Wonderful. Simply wonderful. I adore your skilled way with words and images. "His will sang in the darkness" - ah. Now I'm jealous. *grins* Cúthalion

Author's Response: Thank you! I've written poetry for 30 years longer than I've written fiction. Have I mentioned in any of my reviews of you that I'm jealous of your way with characterization and plot? *grins back* (Now I can go read your update.)

oh.my.god. that was so incredibly beautiful. i just read this at work, and i'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. if i were at home, i'd be weeping like a baby. you so perfectly describe his despair at failing. and then - i love that when he thinks the darkness is descending, he finds the light. thank you for giving his death the significance and meaning that the author failed to provide.

Author's Response: Thank you. (And thank William Blake.) If Jo had written this, I wouldn't have needed to. But really, she almost did--if she'd let herself see what she actually wrote about him. If he'd given into his despair, if he'd given up, he'd have been unconscious by the time Harry bent over him and it all would have been for nothing.... Semper fidelis.
