I'm for his keeping them all. They all have some bearing on the man he is now, even without actually having them. He should be given the chance to face his memories and get closure with them.
I see the question in his mind, though. The hope that somehow we could avoid a bad destiny by changing something like that is very tempting. IMO, though, it would be more important to know so as to be best able to deal with the memories and whatever else comes up that has some basis in those events. |

I am wondering now how he will be able to avoid seeing his bad memories whilst trying to keep the good ones. Surely a lot of his good memories involved Lily, before it all went wrong. It will be interesting to see if he can do it, without getting into difficulties. Very entertaining story, developing nicely. |

Chapter 12: Ah, Snape may look like a woman but he's 100% Snape inside. Loved his acerbic comments to Bill. Glorious! The idea that Harry wouldn't really see a lack of life in black eyes is inspired. Good work!
Snape doesn't remember anything, but he still can't abide fools. *chortles* How sad that Harry has to tell him all the lows of his life. Nice that Snape apologized for Lily's murder, though.
I agree that Snape should think long and hard before taking on his memories again. They might help keep him safe from an expected event, but otherwise, they would only drag down Snape and by extension, Jemima.
Jemima is wise in her Muggle manner. If Snape can keep the good (about a quarter teaspoonful) and dump the rest (a couple of quarts) of his memories, he'll have the best of circumstances to move on with his life and Jemima.
This is a very inventive and complex chapter tying up many ends and hinting at a brighter future for Snape. Great job, Shez! |

LOL—I was laughing at Bill trying to be nice to Snape/Jemima. It sounds like Snape is even jealous of Jemima even when he is her. LOL
I thought you handled the confirmation between Snape and Harry beautifully. Really this conversation should have been in the book and it would have been more satisfying, but I won’t go there.
I almost think it would drive Snape insane to lose his memories. You know, I believe even his bad ones though are valid. After all, wouldn’t his life with Jemima be even sweeter knowing about how bleak his life was before. I think the bad in life gives you more appreciation for the good. I think all your memories, no matter how horrendous, are valuable, simply because they make you who you are. Of course, you have always handled Snape with compassion. So did you want to remove the memories because you think Snape, even after everything that has happened, would not be able to forgive himself? I can see why you might want to spare him?
Anyway, lovely chapter! I get the feeling this story is coming to an end. I’m sad. :(

Well that all went pretty well. I guess all we have left to wait for is his decision as to what to do wtih the memories. I look forward to finding out. |
