I'm still not sure I understand how Harry only saw some memories while holding them all, but I love the way things unfolded. I like how looking at the memories externally, so to speak, allowed him to reconsider his life from an adult perspective. Very nice. Author's Response: Thanks, Rose. I did make up some nonsense about Snape putting a time-sensitive Concealing Charm on the memories that weren't relevant to Harry, but I don't think anything like that exists in canon. Glad you enjoyed it.

Yay! I've caught up! What a great story so far. I just plowed through all 15 chapters in the past two days. I love that there are things of which Snape cannot think and that someone such as Jemima does. The splitting up of his memories is very interesting. I thought that the image of mustard gas was exceedingly apt especially in light of the Nazi parallels.

I love how you wrote this out. It’s so interesting. It’s like Snape has a therapist to help him through this, which he didn’t have the first time. So that way, he doesn’t have to face it alone. It will make him stronger and healthy. I don’t think he would have been content without his memories. He would have always felt hollow, but to maybe learn how to forgive himself, that is a beautiful gift that Jemima is giving. Excellent writing Shez, as always!

I am glad Jemima is there to remind Snape of what he thought and felt before he remembered all of this. That must be so hard on him and you bring it to life so beautifully. I myself would hate to relieve adolescence and I don’t think mine time was ever one third as bad as Snape’s. As always this was a wonderful chapter! You always write Snape was such insight and compassion. :D

Eeeek! I’m so sorry. I read this but I didn’t review. Oops! :(

Anyway, poor Snape, having such a horrible childhood, isolated the way he was. I just want to comfort the little guy. If only he had an Aunt of a relative that had taken him under their wing, he might not have been so lonely. It made him the man he is though. Who knows, maybe he wouldn’t have excelled in magic as well, or had mastered occlumency if he had lived an easier life.

Lovely chapter! You always bring Snape so alive! :D

Now that too real bravery. I myself would like to take my adolescent memories, put them in a bottle and forget about them! Phew, poor girl, over grown teenage angst. It isn't even pretty the first time around ...

Wonderful chapter. This phase of memory in take seems to have been brutal to Severus, so much so that it makes me worry about what will happen when he takes in the next phase of his life. I assume that he has not taken the mark yet since he didn't mention it so that will happen next. Then there is the telling of the prophesy and the death of Lily - Oh gads that will be bad (not to mention killing Albus!) By the reaction he is having this time he will be a total mess by the end of it. I don't know that she has a chance in hell if he gets that far. I look forward to finding out, however, and hoping for the best.
