Reviews for The Unconditional Vow

Rose of the West 2009.11.02 - 04:53PM 70: Sleeping in Light Signed
That was a very artsy ending. It's not my cup of tea, but I'm sure a lot of folks will like it. As we've discussed before, I think there's far too much will they/won't they between chapters 40 and 60. As the reader, I was starting to get the feeling that you were just yanking my chain, and it made me stop caring what happened. On the whole the story works, and I'm sure most of the people who read these last few chapters will need hankies. It was probably my own fault for wanting something like Pride and Predudice while I was reading something like Wuthering Heights.

Author's Response: You are ascribing more power to me than I actually have; I wasn’t yanking your chain, I was simply telling a story. If you felt your chain being yanked, then that says something about your feelings in response to sustained sexual tension. Even though my story wasn’t your cup of tea, you’ve managed to drink the whole teapot. I’m grateful that you’ve shared your experience of the story with me, and have taken time to review each chapter.

I sense the last few paragraphs of this one are particularly important.

Author's Response: Did Luna lend you her Spectrespecs again?

Rose of the West 2009.11.02 - 04:36PM 67: Despair and Hope Signed
That's as well written a shrieking shack scene as I have read.

Author's Response: I'll take that as a compliment!

I know I've remarked before on your talent for weaving the canon with your own story. You've still got it.

Author's Response: Thanks. Wandlore proved particularly difficult to write, but I got there eventually.

That puts the rings to good use.

Author's Response: Keep your eye on those rings... they might surprise you.

Yet another excellent chapter and, at last, ‘the kiss’. I hope they are allowed one more opportunity to ‘say the words’. My hope is pinned on the Tiger’s Eye Rings but then I am a hopeless romantic. I look forward to the closing chapters and congratulate you on your great storyline which has kept me totally engaged throughout. Your writing is beautifully descriptive and I look forward, in time, to reading more.

Author's Response: Thank you very much indeed for your comments on my writing, and I'm glad you're looking forward to the closing chapters. 'Saying the words' would be such a colossal moment for Severus, but for now, at least, he knows he is loved.

I've just got back from a week's much-needed holiday but I think I needed to read that even more! I don't even want to think about where they go from here ...! :-)

Author's Response: Probably best not to dwell on it, would be my advice! Hope you had a nice holiday :-)

F-I-N-A-L-L-Y! That's all I've got to say about that!

Author's Response: You sound... relieved :-)

Ooh that made my knees go weak!

Author's Response: I had a similar experience when writing it!

Wowzee wow wow! Now that's a kiss. Great cliff hanger.

Author's Response: Thank you very much! It's been a long time coming...
