Not saying the "M" word was a good start, but seems Severus still doesn't know how to build on that. But even at thirty-eight he didn't really know, did he?
Author's Response: I think you're right. Severus, unfortunately, never developed much social interaction in life. He has a lot to learn there. |

If it is true that life is about the choices we make, this is an idea worth pursuing. It's started well, and I'll be interested to see whether Severus's dislike of the Marauders gets the better of him in the end.
Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing! I sincerely hope you like where the story is headed! |

Yet another very good chapter. Can't help but wonder if Dumbledore knows more than he lets on (as usual). Oh, poor Severus, re-living his life is not easy. Cheers. M
Author's Response: Thanks for your review! Yes, Dumbledore is elusive like that. |

complications right and left in this chapter! i hadn't thought about him having to deal with hostility from his own housemates. and the scene with dumbledore was intriguing. i am also glad you had severus acknowledge the somewhat skeevy aspect of him being so much older than lily inside, even if he doesn't look it on the outside.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. Yeah, lots of angst to deal with in this chapter. |

another excellent installment. i'm a bit worried about what sorts of problems might arise now that they are back at school, so he will have to deal with those jackasses again.
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! Yes, those jackasses, indeed. |

Ah, I was waiting for the first confrontation with the Marauders. Poor Severus--will he never know a life of peace?
Nicely done.
Author's Response: Thank you. Just wait - he'll have a happy (er, happier) life. |

Uh, no good that Lily flares up like that. I'm having a bad feeling here. Anxiously waiting for the next chapter, where you'll hopefully prove me wrong. Thanks for sharing. /M
Author's Response: Yeah, Lily does have a bit of a temper. Thanks for reviewing. I just submitted the next chapter, so it should be up shortly. |

Darn, just lost my review, so here it goes again:
I'm enjoying the Eileen Snape backstory, and Severus' chance to take responsibility and do things right this time.
Re: Suggestions that he sit his N.E.W.T.s early--I agree with you that he shouldn't. Besides your reasons, he can use the two more years at Hogwarts to decide what kind of man he wants to be. It's also two years of planning how to save Lily and thwart Volemort--and, if necessary, Dumbledore.
Author's Response: Thank you for your review! Yes, two more years, indeed, to think about things... and there's much to think about! |
