Reviews for Quiet in the Library

Moira of the Mountain 2009.07.05 - 10:46AM 1: Quiet in the Library Signed
Came across this on a random search - and enjoyed it very much. I like that you chose books as the vehicle Severus tried to use to frame his apology. And I very much like the subtle ending - somehow he already knows he's trapped as he takes his first steps down such a terrible path to becoming a Death Eater, given the reminder whispered in his ear about the fate of traitors. Well done.

Very clever, beautiful and sad. I liked how Severus found a way to communicate with Lily--good insight into his character of being sneaky and clever at the same time. The last line about Potter keeping her safe was a heartbreaker. I really enjoyed this story!

Author's Response: Thank you very much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I had thought of ending on a more hopeful note, but when given the choice, I'll take angsty every time :)

Beautifully written. I especially like 'Severus hopes that Potter will try harder to keep her safe from now on.' That's so beautiful and sad at the same time. Good job!

Author's Response: Thank you very much :) I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Beautifully written and so sad. I could feel Severus' anguish increase gradually in painful intensity. Your story made me experience his powerful, hopeless jealousy in a very vivid way. Good job! Hope to read more from you. (Please forgive my English, I'm Italian.)

Author's Response: Thank you very much! I'm so happy to hear that the emotions came across so well. I always try to bring them out in a scene like this, but I'm never sure if I'm doing a good job of it or not.
