Reviews for Wolf's Moon

greenwood 2008.06.12 - 12:51AM 13: Night Of Change Signed
Wonderful chaper! Poor Ruta, I guess I kept hoping she wouldn't change (or maybe only, like the Hulk, when she needed to or something). I enjoyed the part where Severus (I can't stop calling him that) brushed her hair and was beginning to find himself falling even more for her. I hope they find each other soon. I look forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response: *laughs* I know I make y'all wait! But I honestly couldn't imagine him or her falling in love within six chapters... And your "... when she needed to or something" is an interesting idea... Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! Cúthalion

Now this is heartbreaking to see how pride and fear can keep two people apart. Oh, I am so hoping for a happy ending here. Thanks for sharing. /M

Author's Response: Don't lose hope. *smiles* Being independent for the most part of your life (or experiencing love as something unfulfilling, painful and grievous) makes you necessarily very cauteous. I'm decidedly optimistic. And thank you so much for reading and reviewing! Cúthalion

Oh, oh, oh, how wonderful. That's what I missed from JKR; when her characters led her meticulously-planned plot astray at the last, she wouldn't follow. In my readings of literature, the best plots are character-driven: think of JKKR, driven to follow Frodo & Gollum when he had no idea where they'd lead him! (according to Christopher's publications of his musings) (Or of Jane Austen, following Emma and Anne to their ends, past whatever humiliating and painful misadventures.) You give us a Ruta worth bothering following the moral quandries. And an SS, which most of your readers already credited, grin.) Plus simple enjoyment. Thanks!

Author's Response: Thank you so very much! *blushes* Cúthalion

I read this chapter the day it showed up on FF.net, but I decided to wait and rveiw it here for consistency's sake since I've read it here and posted all my reviews here. I wonder how someone as unsuited as Pemberly ever slip through the program and become a Medi-wizard? At least Ruta had Lottie Stanhope to help her. I've come across one doctor as unfeeling as Pemberly, it was an Army doctor, a woman who resented having to perform pelvic exams on dependent wives and she took it out on her patients. She was removed after her Commanding Officer received a number of complaints about how she treated the female patients. He should be removed too, he may be in charge of the program but he's subordanite to the head of St. Mungo's and the Ministry. She's going to be much better off with Severus and Winky to take cae of her.

Author's Response: He will be taken care of, don't worry... but not soon enough to keep him from doing just a little MORE damage... Thank you for reviewing! Cúthalion

I'm so very glad that you updated. This is a wonderful fic and I greatly look forward to the next chapters.

Author's Response: And I'm so very glad that you're still ollowing the tale... sorry that it takes me so long! But RL is insane these days, for me and my beta alike. Cúthalion

That is such a brilliant backstory for Ruta! It's consistent with her older character and explains a lot of it (her self-abnegation), but it is also totally unexpected. Ya think Snape can maybe sympathize with someone who totally screwed up their major love? Thanks and please update again soon.

Author's Response: Funny enough it should originally not have been that bad; but when I had reached the dialogue line when Snape incredulously asks: "And this is the reason why you thought you betrayed him?", I stared at the screen and thought: "He's right. That's ridiculous." *sighs* And I'll do my best to update as fast as I can; my beta is just housing her relatives for a big family visit, and she's absolutely unable to concentrate on fanfic. *grins* Thank you very much! Thank you so much Cuthalion for the great quaity reading I've just had. I'm not much of a litterature critic, for I have not the necesary knowledge, but in my opinion you could try publishing something on your own if you havend done that yet. I'll wait anxously for the next chapter, as well as for your next fics.

Author's Response: My goodness, thank you, *blushes* Quite honestly, I don't know if there will be any other fics after this one... it is rather time-consuming, and I am trying for some time now to get something published. I wish the publishing houses would see things your way! *sighs* Cúthalion

Fionnula is as bigoted as any pureblood Deather Eater was. She doesn't even care enough to find out if Ruta has some way to support herself after the severance pay runs out. Now I know what you meant when you told me it wasn't incest that was the problem. Severus is right, Teddy will be OK and it's time for Ruta to take care of herself and her future.

Author's Response: It's not only bigotry, I'd say - it's a kind of thoughtless, ignorant racism (and in some kind of ways reminds me of the general attitude towards AIDS - at least when it was a new disease). But I already found that in the books before, and I think Rowling is very aware of it. Thank you very much!
