It's so sad and sweet! I am wondering if there is a Shakespearean meaning behind the Malfoy's naming her Perdita? Or maybe it's all in my head. |

Very well-written chapter here, with some lovely, poetic descriptions. My heart just aches for Severus: for the boy that he was, the pain he endured, and the breaks that just never seem to come for him. He's so fortunate to have Proserpina's love and support. and though he worries about exposing her to the ugliness of his own childhood, I think it's a good thing that she's witnessed it. It's only deepened her appreciation for and understanding of her father.
I knew the reckoning with Malfoy had to come, but I still felt utter dread at his return. Poor Severus might not withstand such a loss, though I doubt that Proserpina will have any desire to go with her biological parents. I have a suspicion that I know why they've come to collect her now, after all this time. |

I think his daughter is old enough to make up her own mind about who her father really is. Gosh, one hopes, at least. |
