Reviews for Slánaighear Ofrail An Seangharrá (Healers of Shanagarry)

Trickie Woo 2008.10.30 - 12:23PM 11: Into the Confessional Signed
Wow Pitt, I didn't realize I made that much of an impression or had any influence at all. But you're the one who got me thinking and then the thinking got me looking up all of that on Google, so I got a lot out of it and learned something profound to boot.

Author's Response: Trickie Dear: You made an impression on me at the very beginning with that atrocious first attempt of mine, which, BTW is now gone. I had intended to really work on it but it went the way of the magnet as well. I have to say that knowing you're going to read what I've written inspires me to be much more careful about the words I choose and how I choose to glue them together. I know that you'll read into what I've written as well as what I have left unwritten. You are a fantastic reader.

Kingsley's out of the way for now, but he's representative of all that Snape needs to fix. Or Minerva. But how can she?// Hmm, did Orra's husband do a number on her? Is that why she's so prickly about not taking orders from any man?//Yippee! Orra's going to the Malfoys. I may get to see and hear Lucius (just a small happy dance, don't mind me). Awww, Lucius is under house arrest? Is he a cruel, vicious, utterly unrepentant wizard in your tale? No redeeming features at all?//Now I'm totally confused. Lucius was courteous. His mark is obviously bad. But Draco's mark was a fainter rendition. Is it his mark that is Dumbledore's? Why was Dumbledore leaving marks at all? What was he signaling to Orra? Orra didn't give away anything to the reader at all so I'm in the dark. This was a longer chapter than your usual and a lot went on; everyone's motivations and behaviors will come out later I imagine. I'm clueless at this point. Nice writing!

Author's Response: You've summed up Kingsley's role perfectly! Minerva is an intrepid soul. Orra's husband is a mystery, isn't he? Orra just doesn't like taking orders, period. Lucius is part of the mystery. Sorry, love, I'm not done with him yet. Orra is very confused about the Marks as well. In a way, I'm glad everyone reading i confused, but, in another way I'm mad at myelf. I didn't mean to give everyone headaches. Dumbledore didn't leave any marks. More mysteries about Dumbledore's past and how he and Orra met. Thanks for taking the time to review. I greatly appreciate your questions and comments. :)

Lucky old Snape! A blonde, a brunette, and a redhead to nurse him better! He couldn't have wished for more :)

Author's Response: I don't think Snape is aware of exactly how lucky he really is at this point. Thanks for reading. Pit

Oh, leave it to Aideen to use up all the floo powder needlessly. I hope they get more from Minerva or someone. Oh, funny - Orra on a chair when the poor little elf popped into Snape's living room. 'Living' with Snape will be quite the education for Orra. Things flying around, elves, incantations. That Aideen is just a parcel of blabbermouth. Now Snape is in more trouble. I'd like to wash her mouth out with soap. She hasn't a conservative bone in her body. Of course, Orra shouldn't have left the green floo powder lying around. Tsk, what a mess. This complicates poor Snape's life. He's a hero and is treated like a criminal. Grrrr. Great work, PW.

Author's Response: Aideen is anti-conservative anything lol. She's the "cleansing" fire of the three. I'm glad you liked the chapter, dearie, I was laughing out loud at myself when I put poor Orra on the chair. Can you just imagine not knowing much about Snape's world, and when you wish to make a spot of tea, a little green elf pops up with a tea service? I'd have been out the door screaming. Orra is made of sterner stuff then I!

Those three women are really tight knit. I do think they would like to see a real dragon. It appears that Snape has more friends than maybe it was ever shown in the books or movies. Minerva truly cares for him. It's a strange thing to think she views him as a child, a grown child, for her to protect, but rather nice. He wasn't so alone after all. And Orra is having a nice time cuddling up to Snape. I guess she thought it was her husband in her dream state, but there are possibilities there, not least of which is Snape's mild reaction to being fondled. The heat is turning up...yes?

Author's Response: These three women have been friends since early childhood. They'd love to see a real dragon ... and one of them may get the chance. :: whistling innocently :: I think Minerva had a bit of a soft spot for Severus. I don't know why, I couldn't back it up, it's just a feeling. Orra definitely reacted to be in close contact with a man after a long absence of male company. I hope you're ready for a slow burn, though. I have one more "trick" up my sleeve.

You can erase the extra review I accidentally left for the wrong chapter. It actually goes here. Why was Bill so recalcitrant about accepting Orra? He'd just seen her power. Oops, I guess Bill is married in your story. (Did I forget that from an earlier chapter?) I hope Kellyn doesn't open the robe and touch the mask. Orra really should have warned her before dumping it in her arms. Well, if that complex ceremony doesn't knock the curse out of commission, I don't know what could. So the worlds of Wiccan magic and Wizarding magic are connecting a bit. The should be interesting for both sides.

Author's Response: Bill just came out of the battle, had a dead man dumped at his feet, and met a muggle woman who apparently can do magic - he's a bit suspicious. Orra can trust Kellyn. She'll know not to touch anything inside that package just from the way Orra told her about burying it in the circle.

Orra is fierce in her single-minded attempt to help Snape. Minerva and Bill need to hop to it. (I think you meant Snape's supine form, not his prone form, unless he was lying on his stomach.) It's lucky he's unconsious but not insensible. He must have a strong mind to connect so tightly with Orra. Or perhaps another kind of connection...? And are you in the process of hooking Bill up with one of the other women? Anyway, I'm happy that Snape is coming round now. A much happier, less fraught chapter.

Author's Response: I think you're right. Poor boy was supine. I'll have to change that, pronto. Orra forced a connection. Snape will be a bit unnerved when Minerva tells him about the process. And, no, Bill's married. I just always liked him. And, I needed a convenient cursebreaker.

Kellyn has a rather odd job, one she doesn't mind sharing with her friends (until she doesn't have any friends. Yuck.) Why is this Murphy so antagonistic to Orra? I'm glad Snape stood up for her. *grin* With the ol' itchy butt trick. Ooooh, Snape's not getting better. This was an eventful chapter with the cops nosing around and Snape collapsing. Lovely writing.

Author's Response: Okay, I confess, Kellyn is based on an acquaintance of mine with a rather odd job as well, :) Murphy's antangonism goes WAY back to childhood. And, he's bound to be a bit more antagonistic after schlumping around with his itchy arse looking for Orra's ne'er do well brother in law. Lovely review writing as always, LaBib.

Shame on Kingsley. Aideen will bring him around. You just had to off and leave us worried and in suspense again didn't you ;)

Author's Response: Kingsley is just plain mad. Snape played his role well and more than one wizard is quite angry with him. I like the suspense myself, sorry, you'll have to suffer my foible.
