Reviews for First Crack in the Cover

Really, really lovely. And I admire so much how totally in character your Snape is: this could have come straight from the Pensieve.

Author's Response: Thank you! This was my very first Snape-fic ever, and a first attempt to get a grip on this extremely complicated character. I'm glad that this works for you! Cúthalion

The more I explore my own understanding of this amazing and complex character, the more fascinated I become - bewtiched and ensnared, shall we say ? Beautiful work - I am inspired....

Author's Response: Thank you! *blushes* I found your tale very inspiring, too.

This was absolutely, beautifully written. I certainly hope that you are continuing to write. You are very talented. Thank you for this insightful look in Snape's mysterious, intriguing and utterly captivating character.

Author's Response: Thank you! *blushes* If you like a good piece of AU (plus a good dose of unusual romance), you might gove my tale "Wolf's Moon" a try. It will have about 15 chapters in the end, 11 are already posted. Cúthalion

Lovely, just how I imagined Snape. He can't like Harry because it hurts to much, but when he hates him he also feels the guilt of Lily eyes looking down on him.

Author's Response: I simply find him etremely fascinating. Rowling has written an amazing series of books, but very few of her figures are deeply characterized. Snape is, intended or not. Thank you very much! Cúthalion

I like the viewpoint you've taken here - Severus wants to hate Harry, and really he needs to, but the part of him that is Lily makes it impossible. Good to see human!Snape :)

Author's Response: And good to write human!Snape - I am very glad that you like my viewpoint! *smiles* Cúthalion

Very well done. I've appreciated this intiguing point of view: "To save the boy, he must hate the boy". A very touching exploration of Snape's feelings, according to DH' revelations. I have also appreciated your description of his fears for living constantly in a double deception and for knowing exactly what price the Dark Lord is going to claim from him. Again, a very well balanced and interesting little story. (Sorry for my English, I am Italian. I hope you understand what I wrote).

Author's Response: Thank you - and I had no problems understanding what you wanted to say. I am a huge Snape-fan, and I am more than happy that you like my personal exploration of his heart and soul. Cúthalion

Author's Response: Thanks! *blows a kiss*

This is such a great fic. I love how we get to see past Snape's formidable emotional defences and how you give us a glimpse of his true heart, so well concealed for all those years. The last few years have been like climbing a mountain, the rocky slope getting steeper and steeper with every laborious footfall. He is challenging fate, playing a game that sooner or later will claim his life. Unlike Fudge, the Dark Lord is no fool. One day he will have to pay the price for his ludicrous duplicity, and he will pay it with flesh and blood. Oh, no kidding. :( Poor Severus. :( Hell and damnation, but he has her eyes. And with that, you slay me!

Author's Response: You are very sweet - and without you this would never have been written. Thank you so much!
