But Lupin wasn't risking anything. He and his friends surely understood that Snape would be silenced if he tried to out Lupin; as soon as the school accepted a werewolf student it became a *school* secret that the school would protect. I've come completely around to Snape's belief that the Marauders planned it together to get Snape warned off from following them, so that they could have their Animagus outings without getting caught. (Because nobody else was keeping an eye on their doings.) And in that case Lupin's motive was actually the strongest of the four. He was the only Marauder who couldn't roam the countryside any other night of the month. (Well, I suppose he could accompany them under James's cloak, but he couldn't keep up with them unless they slowed to a walk, which rather takes the fun away.)

This... is actually very good, for a short story. ^_^ It'll be in my Faves now!
Author's Response: Thanks, Jibril! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

It was great to see an almost-truce that they both went back on. True reconciliation would take more than that, and neither is quite willing to change yet (well, Snape's not, anyway). Great job!
Author's Response: I think you're right; Snape having so many people hate him is largely his own fault! Thank you for the review :)

Unless I missed it during the books, I never saw much regarding how Lupin felt about Sirius allegedly being a murderer, and I've often wondered how Lupin felt about it. So it was great to read this story. Hooray for fanfic!
Author's Response: My inspiration for Lupin's feelings came mostly from the scene where Harry overhears McGonagall & co speaking about him in the Three Broomsticks, though I would have liked to have seen more of Lupin throughout the series, too. Thanks for reviewing, Faraday!

This is a great bit of back story. It's always lovely to see fan fic that could actuall have just been a scene cut out of one of the books.
Author's Response: Backstory is one of my favourite types of fanfic! Thanks for reviewing, Keryl Raist.
