Very good story! You have made some good points worth considering. I like the idea about the antidote.

Author's Response: Thank you very much. Yes, I really hated the way JKR just wrote Severus off. He deserved much better than what he got in canon. Thank you for the review.

I like your ending much better than what happened in DH! His DH death seemed to conflict with his intelligent character (of course he would have made himself immune to snake venom!). And I'm glad at least Hermione had some sympathy to try to save him (I was thinking why couldn't they heal him with her potions!). He was really funny while he was recovering while listening to that Healer. I love the idea of him getting to publish books and have his genius recognized. I'm also glad that he finally got his Potions book back.

Author's Response: JK to me seemed to just 'write him off' without really taking into account the character she'd created. This was a reaction to DH, an angry little plot bunny that bit me. I'm glad you liked it.

I like your version very much. The ending to the phenomenon of Harry Potter was very disappointing for many of us. I think most especially for those who wrote and enjoyed fan fiction's depictions of the characters. I also approve of you adding this to Ashwinder.

Author's Response: Thankyou. I was concerned that it didn't really fit on Ashwinder since it isn't technically a SS/HG story. I could later make it one... but for now I just wanted to give Severus a new start on life.

Author's Response: Thank you.

I liked this very much. All these sorts of stories are so very cathartic as I was in a lot of ways deeply disappointed with aspects of the last book. Thanks and I'm glad to see the one character who really deserved a little bit of a happy ending got it. :-)

Author's Response: Yes, I agree. I thank you for the kind review.

This is all very plausible, and after all, Rowling never says explicitly that Severus died--although I think Harry would have spoken differently to Albus Severus if he hadn't. But I love the idea of Severus ending up in such a beautiful, restful place, at peace with his past and honored by his students and the wizarding world. Perhaps, if you look at it another way, your ending isn't so different from Rowling's after all. One query: the heading says that this story isn't finished. Was that a mistake? In any case, thank you for a very satisfying piece of writing.

Author's Response: I never saw Harry as being to knowledgeable with medical conditions – especially when he can’t even heal his own finger without Hermione’s help. Besides, Severus deserved so much more that the end he got. It was like JK just ‘wrote him off’ and went on. That made me mad – so I wrote this from that anger. I’ve been asked to add more – I just may do that later.

This is a lovely ending! Not too sweet, but happy nonetheless. I think Snape's new choice of career makes a lot more sense than if he were to continue teaching, and Hermione's role in all of it is a nice touch as well.

Author's Response: Thank you. I just wanted to give him a bit of freedom and new possibilities. Besides, Hermione is too caring to not try and assist him.
