||1: Chapter One
|I live in Maryland not far from the Potomac Valley and I'm curious as to why you used that as the name of the area where Snape/Crane lives and why you chose it as the title of the story. I'm also wondering why you chose the name Crane and the profession of psychiatry. Snape has some of the characteristics of Frasier, Niles, and Lilth Sternin-Crane. Is there any link to them and Samuel Crane in your consciousness, or am I reading something into it that isn't there?
This is written as a sort of 'roman a clef', I know for sure that Samuel Crane is Severus and John Wolfe is Lupin. The hints point to Troy Phelps as being Draco.
I've never read slash before and I can't guarantee that I will stick with it, but the title caught my eye. I'm a Severus/any adult female who isn't Hermione fan, and I love heterosexual lemons. What I will do is skip any gay sex or romance and see how I like what I read.|
Author's Response: Hi there!
I'm so glad that you've decided to give this story a try.
Actually the title comes from a very lovely little valley in Western Montana. I must admit that I didn't watch 'Fraiser' so I'm pretty sure that I haven't pulled Samuel's style from that quarter. Really, I just envision him as effective enough to be arrogant, and in enough demand to be exhausted.
As far as the gay sex goes, I'm much more interested in the relationship outside of the bedroom, and I don't see these guys getting very mushy.
Please let me know what you think.
