There's definitely something different about Chara. Your Lupin is really growing on me, although I'm a little confused as to why Snape keeps dropping in on the two of them when ostensibly he hates them! Hmm, yes I suppose it is a bit odd that Snape would spend that much time with people who get up his nose, metaphorically speaking, but I like to think it's because there's something going on that he knows little about, and that really sh*ts him. Echo 2007.09.06 - 04:45AM 29: Chapter Twenty-Nine – Evasion Anonymous This is all so freakin' brilliant, I don't know where to start commenting, so I'll just keep it to the most obvious thing. The whole magazine exchange is leagues beyond hilarious ("...unlike some, I don’t feel the need to flagellate my genitalia every two hours, Lupin."), and Snape's discourse on porn versus the real thing smacks most astonishingly of his first-year Potions speech; how much more in-character can you get than that? Serious bravos for this chapter!!! Author's Response: Thanks, Echo! I must admit I had fun writing it a while back, but was waiting until I got to the right point in the story when I could actually use the idea. You wrote overconfidant-Snape-in-a-panic PERFECTLY! Parr hauling him up by his coat and the seat of his pants was just blindingly hilarious, not to mention being the great visual of the decade. On a more serious note, I'm very pleased to see that you've kept this story canon-compliant to a point where you still have the freedom to run with it and shape it the way you want. With the big rush of DH-compliant stories, I don't think anyone has stopped to realize how severely it limits where you can go. Anyway, just my no-count opinion on that particular matter :-) But what I hope DOES count is that I think Orion's Pointer is one of the finest works in this entire archive. Author's Response: Thank you so much, Allegretta! I confess that I did hit a barrier after DH came out, and had to spend a fair amount of thinking time to meld my plotline around canon. Fortunately, I don't think it's affected what I've already written, but it has rather strangled what I'd hope to do. Much as I love Snape, Chara is a brilliant character as well - I'm not sure who to root for! Author's Response: I thought the brawling would make the story a bit different.
