Reviews for Snape's Worst Class

Hm, I do understand Snape just too well. there is nothing more boring like a class that does everything right. Failing students is much more fun than praising them *evil grin*.

Author's Response: It definitely would have been out of character for him to praise them, wouldn't it? Thank you for your review!

Well written & enjoyably humorous. I usually only read SS/HG but this was a nice break. Thanks for sharing & giving me another author to read!

Author's Response: Thank you!
I don't have one at Ashwinder (yet), but I hope you will enjoy the other stories I have - and will have - here at SH.
Thank you again!

Loved it! Excellently written, each scene beautifully crafted and prompting fine mental pictures. How perfectly you've captured canon Snape's character, especially his dismay that he's missing out on things and can't hang around like a corpse at a wedding. I can just see him in class, the overlarge nostrils flaring as black eyes glance slowly from side to side, expert at peaking through those curtains of greasy hair, and seeing nothing, dammit, nothing untoward. And that the names of the students were Dickens characters was such a bonus.

Author's Response: Everytime I've tried to respond to your review, I crack up laughing. Such mental images that you have crafted for this! (And no one messes with my 6'4" "Tiny" Tim!) Thanks for a great review!

This was very nice. I can just imagine Snape being upset about the perfect class. But - what was THEIR motivation to work so consistently and thoroughly for so long?

Author's Response: Thank you for posting an excellent question!

What was their motivation? Why, what would bother Snape the most! They didn't like him. They’d had one year of Slughorn, then three years of Snape’s sneers and insults, and this was the last year that, as a group, they had to have him. What better to pay him back than to shut him out, to prove to him that they didn’t need him? That they could learn on their own, that others (like Smyth) could and would teach them, and that they still esteemed Slughorn?

On a personal note, Snape’s gliding silently past Hermione’s cauldron when her work was faultless reminded me of my middle school math teacher, whose body odor I could not stand. I learned that if my papers were consistently correct, he would walk past me (Whew!) instead of leaning over my shoulder to point out errors (Phew!)

Reader's Response: Cheaky, cheaky. That's a very Slytherin tactics of them. But absolutely perfect way of revenge. As well as your own performance in the math class.

Loved it.

It's the perfect revenge on Snape. 1000 points to Gryffleslytherclaw for the Gryffindor courage, the Slytherin cunning, the Hufflepuff steadfastness and the Ravenclaw intelligence it took for both you to create them and for your motley crew of Hufflepufs and Ravenclaws to do such a task.

I'm still snerking with the very idea of Snape casting silencing charms on himself, or the dungbomb variant (sheer comedic brilliance).

I loved it, thanks for a fantastic read.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm very partial to my "motley crew", as the two houses are my favorites in my fandom. Thank you for the points; they look very pretty in their hour glasses! And the term "Gryffleslytherclaw" is going into my collection of favorite compliments!

You're welcome, dear. I had to come post a review. This is the most original story I've ever read. Your Severus is completely in character. You can just see the sneer he's giving everyone. And using Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff is brilliant. So many always use Slytherin and Gryffindor.

And to answer the final question: "Two hundred points, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff."
"But why, Professor Snape?"
*scowl* "For being insufferable know-it-all prats!"

Author's Response: Thank you again! Ah, but they do know why, and they also know that he will never, ever forget or forgive them!

(Imagine them as adults when he sees them at Diagon Alley. And as another reason to flee the school - their children were due to arrive!)
