Reviews for A Single Future

Moira of the Mountain 2011.05.28 - 01:01PM 1: A Single Future Signed
This surfaced in a Random Search - and though the canon ending was different, this is still worthy of high praise!

Author's Response: Thanks so much!!

It has happened. It is happening. Very well done.

Author's Response: Thank you so very much! I remember being very intensely preoccupied with the ending of the series, and the ending of Snape--and I just kept wandering around the end in my mind. I'm glad you liked!

I think that "And there is no word for this" somehow describes the overwhelmingness of the worst case scenario. The contrasts between the different colours works well too. Loved it in a self-torturing sort of way!

Author's Response: It isn't uplifting, is it? *laughs* I really love this piece. The line "the world no longer spins on two axes" was in my head for a very long time, and this seemed to be the right thing to surround it with. Thank you so very much for commenting, I'm so glad you liked it enough to let me know!

Very well done - the unthinkable happens, and while the world comes crashing down around him...his life does not end. I think this is the absolute worst ending possible, and you've captured it very well.

Author's Response: Oh, thank you so very much! I appreciate the comment very much, and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Poor Snape. There are so many good lines in this, I find it hard to pick any out. :) ("juggled with skulls" and the description of the "claret sea" was creepy but very astute) But most of all, I think I love the perfect rhythm in this. Just lovely to read. The "He is still here" at the end is so very terrifying. Excellent! :)

Author's Response: Thank you so very much for the comment! I appreciate it tremendously. I love the repetition of "still here." He's so focused on staying alive...he hasn't entirely thought through the consequences.
