Reviews for The Hogwarts Express

I love this story! The characters were done really well and the descriptions created vivid images in my mind. It was such an interesting story! You write very well. I'm reading all of your stories at the moment, they're all great!

Author's Response: Hi LiVVy! Good to hear from you again. I'm glad you enjoyed this one, it remains a favorite because it was the first one I ever wrote. Thanks!

God, I love it. Read one of your other stories, and clicked on to this one as well. Completely believable, I could see it happening. The chance of a new start for Snape, and then one incident on the train sends him scrambling for Slytherin. Loved the, "Not Gryffindor," bit. Good echo.

Author's Response: Pleased to hear you liked my little echo. It was the idea I wrote the rest of the story around.

I liked the story, and I could easily see Black, Potter and Snape as friends based upon your characterization. However, I'm concerned that you've got the ages wrong. Are Narcissa, Lucius Bella and Hagrid really that old? I'm not sure. Anyway, well done!

Author's Response: Hi! I am glad you liked my story. I got Hagrid's age about right. He was a younger student at school with Tom Riddle, the future Voldemort, which is in roughly the same generation as Snape's mother Eileen Prince. He would have been an adult by the time Snape and company were 11. The others are less clear, but I think Lucius is supposed to be a few years older than Snape. Sirius's insult to Snape (in OotP) that Snape is 'Lucius's lapdog' soundsthat way to me. So I picked Narcissa and Bellatrix's ages to match.

I like the restraint you used in the charactarizations. Anyone who didn't "know" Lucius wouldn't know how bad he is, yet he's very much in character. The boys act like 11 year olds. They react to Snape's "difference" in a realistic way, and using a book to reveal Snape's Dark side is a nice paralell to canon. The Sorting Ceremony was a real treat.

Author's Response: Thanks for leaving your review! I'm glad you liked my descriptions of the boys. I was trying to channel my memories of middle school.:) And I'm especially pleased you liked the Sorting. That was the idea that made me write this story.

Ciao Xenasquill! I didn't think I would have found you here again so soon! The story is very well written as always, enjoyable to read... but you can do much much better! I mean, in term of surprising us. Are other chapters coming? In this case, I will wait for them. Cari saluti. Mariaemilia

Author's Response: At present, this is a one-shot. Just of putting down some my ideas on the roots of Snape's conflict with the Marauders. I'm not sure what I'll be working on next, but thanks for the comments. I'm glad you enjoyed it, even if it lacked some of the drama and suspense of the other story. It was a nice change to work on it...
