Their reunion in the past was sweet and romantic. Too bad they can't catch a break in the present. |

This is another great example of your ability to tell parallel stories. In the present, Severus is lying to and avoiding Camilla, and in the past, she's doing the same to him. I love the way you do that! |

Hmmm. They're both hiding something, so we have two mysteries going on. You do a great job of juggling both plots simultaneously. |

Poor Severus! He's still stuck with his "idiotic students and horrible career," but now he can't even take comfort from his wife because he's afraid he's cheating on her. |

This is great, the way you contrast the sweet scene in the present with the traumatic scene in the past. I particularly loved Severus's speech to Camilla about how much he needed her. He was vulnerable and painfully honest yet dignified. That's a very hard balance to pull off. Well done! |

Your depiction of the DEs' activities is a lot more realistic than their Keystone Kops behavior in canon. That always made it hard for me to take them seriously. Severus is such a guy in the flashback. Camilla clearly wants a declaration of love and commitment from him, and he actually thinks he giving her one by saying he's not seeing anyone else, and he's content with their arrangement. Since Camilla likes Muggle books, she should get him, "You Just Don't Understand." |

There's always something interfering with their romance, whether bratty students or obnoxious overlords. Severus is really caught between three masters, not two (with Potter as the third). I like the way the ghost of Lily rears its head, with Severus assuming every woman must like handsome, arrogant jocks. He needs to get out more. A lot of women can't stand men like that. |

I don't know how these two got together, they're both so good at driving others away (in the flashback). The dueling scene was funny and romantic at the same time. This romance reminds me of the one between Belle and Rumpelstiltskin on Once upon a Time. |

Wow, you can write comedy as well as mystery and drama. I particularly liked the stupid way Camilla acted when she got drunk. And Severus is a perfect gentleman as usual, leaving the lady to take care of herself. |

I love the way you show Severus's fundamental decency in his embarrassment and shame about the way he behaved in his flashback. His reluctance to admit to needing help is also entirely in character. |
