I remember reading this on your LJ and I didn't know it had posted. I was too dense to get the biblical reference until it was discussed in the thread, but even without being aware of it, there's something about the last line that is incredibly sexy and powerful. I can just picture Snape feeling vulnerable, but fighting against it. :-)

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Vocalion - these are indeed the impressions I tried to convey. It's good to know that for some people it actually works :D. -S.

Hello there! An original subject, certainly, and I do like the parallel with Samson and Dahlila. There is also another parallel to make with Strar Trek and these charming Borgs... resistance is futile! I am not sure about your choice of adjectives, though. I'm really not sure I would use "treacherous" with "body, or make an image with sleep *dragging* at his eyelids. Somehow, the images you wanted to create did not work for me. But that's only my humble opinion.

Author's Response: Hm. You made the fact that you didn't like it quite obvious by what you did to my stars, I see. I'm afraid I don't agree with you - the 'treacherous body' makes a lot of sense to me and it's actually my favourite phrase in the drabble; I also like the force implied in 'dragging'. But of course you are entitled to your opinion. I have also never seen a Star Trek film in my life; it's a bit of a nuisance to me now that this unconscious reference should have bothered you so much. Alternative suggestions are always welcome. -S

Sounds like Sampson & Delilah. Who is the woman?

Author's Response: Well, strictly speaking it's my OFC Brynhild Bromley (The Good-Morrow, As She likes It, Monkey Business); but I suppose she could be almost anyone you like here :-). I'm delighted you saw the Samson and Delilah bit here; I guess many people wouldn't. Thanks! -S
