Zen Lady 2006.05.19 - 12:07PM 10: Chapter 10 Signed
I told you that your fans would be impatient with the cliffhanger (but you know I'm the anti-cliffhanger queen!) Great job, as usual: a very mature and swoon-worthy Harry, and no touchy-feely Severuses in sight! ;-D Cheers! Zen

Author's Response: Zen, I know you warned me, but I love cliffhanger's so it had to be in here. And thank you so very much for helping me keep Severus in line. :)

Oooh, loving the steamy ending...I'm Electrophile from Fiction Alley, btw, just came over to read ahead on one of my fav stories! Keep it up, sister!

Author's Response: Thanks very much. Yup, that was a nice steamy ending promising so much more. I am working on the next one. :)

Snape's awkward declaration of love was really in character, as you managed to convey his surprise, his amazement, and his satisfaction all at once. It certainly appears that he's not pushing her away now, and I laughed about his indignation about being called cute. That's the last word to describe Snape. I know that Aurelia can recover, and I'm sure Snape will be by her side every step of the way. I look forward to how this continues.

Author's Response: Thanks, Amanda. I think poor Severus is coming up on his last big hurdle in his relationship. I really think he would have been realily surprised to hear the declaration of love, something he's really built up in his mind... I really loved the whole cute part. I think they both needed something like that. :)

AGH! How could you stop the story there...with them....just starting...to...AGH! (*pulling hair*) Now we will all be waiting on pins and needles for the next chapter. The build up has been so good and I see you are not going to let us have it yet. Great chapter and really can't wait for more!

Author's Response: How could I stop there? How could I NOT stop there? Bwahahahaha! Okay, I'm really sorry, I absolutely cannot resist a good dramatic cliffhanger. I am working on the next chapter, and hope it will not be near as long a wait.

Now he knows, she loves him, she really really loves him. (I'm sorry for the Sally Field paraphrase, but I just couldn't help it.) Now he has to get her back to her real self, or the clinginess will drive him away. He handled everything so expertly; her rescue, dealing with his feelings, reaching a truce and beginning a normal, rather than hostile, relationship with Potter, telling Helen and Julia what happened before they saw their mother, dealing with the Minister and the Ministry's callous demands, and capturing Lucius. Severus and Harry were a real team doing that. He has really grown up emotionally now and is ready for an adult romantic relationship with Aurelia and for dealing with others, like Lupin, in an adult way. I hope he is able to accept friendship from them now and is able to make more friends. Harry seems to have matured as well, so maybe they could at least have a cordial relationship, a frienship might be to much to ask right now. Adrian did well on his part, better than DD would have with his meddling and manipulation. I wonder if those traits of DD's helped keep him from fully developing emotionally until now. I know that being a loner helped him as a spy, but I think DD played that card for all he could get out of it from Severus. When he coerced Severus into the Wizard's Vow to kill him when the time came he really pushed him over the edge. Severus deserves a normal, happy life; to love and be loved; to have the respect he is due for the sacrifices he had to make and recognition for what he did to defeat 'He Who I Find Most Tiresome' ; a family that includes Eileen, and maybe even some children of his own in the future. In otherwords, he deserves a happy ending. Now I'm waiting to read Lucius' fate and for Severus to be able to acknowledge that Irma Pince is really his mother, Eileen Prince Snape. Oh yes, before I forget, I'm waiting for some lemons too.

Author's Response: Wo, thanks again for a wonderful reveiw. Rather than address all your wonderful points individually, I will say that they are all very astute. Severus is indeed on the path to growing up and I think burying the hatchet with Harry, and realizing that Harry is *not* James and that perhaps his behavior in the past was improper, is a huge step in the right direction....Interesting thought about Albus, and one that I had never had, but now that you mention it, I can most definitely see it (I am refusing to let my muses latch onto anything related to that idea, though LOL)...You'll have to keep reading to see how your other concerns are addressed. :D

Who is the wealthy benefactor (is that redundant?) to the poisons ward? Maybe Adrian? I think the accusatory voice would be Harry?

Author's Response: Hehehe!!! One of those is answered in the next chapter. The other, it'll take a little bit longer.

When I read Severus not to Aurelia after her birthday dinner I felt my heart cringing-almost painful! It was so difficult for him to lay the situation out in the open like that. Then I had a good chuckle when Snape asked his mother to translate Aurelia’s reply back. Too cute. Questions: Why doesn’t Severus want to spend time with his rediscovered mother over the holidays? Can that flower on the door really be from Severus? The gesture seems overly romantic. Or maybe I have become the cynic?

Author's Response: "Why doesn’t Severus want to spend time with his rediscovered mother over the holidays?" You know, that's a very good question. LOL I tend to think he doesn't have much in the way of fond memories with his family and I would think that she would encourage him to spend time with a woman that is obviously important to him. I am writing at least one Eileen centric filler chapter. This may be a candidate for another....As to the flower, could be. :)...Backing up to asking his mother to translate, I really enjoy her character and she provides some light moments in just the right places.

The headmaster is disapointing me. I had hoped that Adrian and Severus could be friends or at least civil to each other. But it seems that Adrian is baiting Severus, which is never a good idea. It occurred to me as I read this chapter that the majority of my past readings either Hermione or Severus is fairly certain that they are meant to be together. It is disconcerting to have both Aurelia and Severus waffling about. Perhaps the birthday dinner will solidify things?

Author's Response: Ah, Adrian...Severus is such a complex man that I don't think anyone just gets him. One of the things I love about this story is that they aren't sure. He has all his baggage, she has hers and they wonder if they can get past it all. LOL

GASP! What a lovely twist! It is totally unique! I am thrilled! I have to go & cant read the next chapter now! damn! Well done Ms. Phoenix

Author's Response: LOL That is quite a revelation isn't it? I hope that you are able to get back to the story soon and continue reading on. I'm glad you are enjoying the story. I like to try to find new and unusual twists, and that one worked, didn't it. LOL

OH Severus is still such a CRANK! I thought he might mellow now that he has regained his site. He does hang on to his bitterness rather well!

Author's Response: Molly, thanks for reviewing. As for Severus, it's very hard to change a lifetime of behavior. LOL I like him like that though. Perhaps he is hiding a softer side, though we'll see. :)
