Reviews for A Different Perspective

Yes, I can see them having conversations like this. Interesting Imferi plan. I know (at least I hope) that Snape is innocent of the Vance murder and I want to believe your interpretation. Very compelling story, so off to the next chapter. My skills as a reviewer are terrible, but I'm enjoying this. :-)

Author's Response: You are doing just fine as a reviewer, Vocalion! Thank you!

I think you're right about a lot of this and am actually writing a story with some basic similarities. In any case, your story made me think. Why in hell didn't Dumbledore send his Patronus messenger to Snape, to tell Snape to meet him on the top of the tower??

Author's Response: Thank you for your review, c.m. winters. I'd certainly like to read your story in the future, where do you post it? I'm currently not reading other post HBP stories since I'm plotting on a longer follow-up of this short one myself. Many of us will come to similar conclusions, I guess. It will still be fun to read all the different versions. Why didn't he send a Patronus? I can only offer guesses. For one, Patronuses can be intercepted, as seen with Tonks' Patronus which was meant for Hagrid. Then Dumbledore was very weak from the potion he drank. He simply might not have had the energy. Harry isn't an Order member, he may not know how to send messages with the Patronus. And Dumbledore might have wanted to look around the Astronomy tower first before he called Snape there, with the Dark Mark hovering over it and all.

"A different perspective" is right! I'm very taken with this story and the whole idea of an underground resistance. I also like seeing Snape and Dumbledore on such equal terms. Yes, Severus uses "Headmaster," but there seems to be a real rapport between the two of them. I also like your view that perhaps DD asks for Severus to kill him because he trusts him as a friend and NOT because he thinks Snape's the only one cold enough to do it (which seems to be the popular theory in fandom for those of us who feel that perhaps Snape and DD had an understanding about the headmaster's death). A pleasure to read; I can't wait to see more from your perspective!

Author's Response: Thank you for this great review, lunafish! For some reason, I never saw Snape as cold. Passionate, angry, full of deliberately repressed emotions. Acting cold, perhaps. But not really being cold.

A refreshingly new story to fill in the gaps! Well written and VERY interesting! Some of what you write I hope may be true. I look forward to more.

Author's Response: Thank you! I hope some of it were true, too. :-)

Excellently paced chapter!

Author's Response: Thank you!

Interesting. I like how you neatly incorporate a number of very workable theories regarding what was really going on between Dumbledore and Severus in HBP. I'm looking forward to more of an explanation of the inferi in your plot.

Author's Response: Thank you for your review, you are my very first reviewer! :-) There will be more interaction between Dumbledore and Snape in part 2 (the final part), which is uploaded, but not cleared yet. There won't be more about Inferi in this story though; they only guest-star here. Sorry.
