Reviews for Faint Hope

Ooooooooh I LOVED the "leapfrogging" through time! Hop! Hop! Hop! Love it! Love it! Love it! This was an amazing essay, mouse, and, if I am not mistaken, an attempt to do something radically different from what you usually write! (or what I've read anyway). Beautifully done, really; I enjoyed every part of it. Very touching. But the best in all this remains the basic structure of the essay; brilliant! *mwah* And, if I may add, very "pure" and to the point (in regards to a comment I made in the past).

Author's Response: Thanks Zaharia! I'm glad you liked it. It is a bit of a weird story, and very unlike what I've done before, but I liked how it turned out. Naturally, I then felt the inclination to inflict it upon everyone else. :-D

I think the most fascinating thing about this story is the change in how Severus looks at Lupin - how he transitions from looking at him as weak, to the strength that he shows at the end, in a way dominating Severus.

Normally I am seriously squicked by slash, but I started reading and couldn't stop. Instead of the weird feeling I usually get in the pit of my stomach, I was just entranced by the narrative. Well done you!

Author's Response: Be careful there - you're on a slippery slope. I used to not like Slash either. :-D

Thanks so much, Zhaneraal; I very much appreciate that you would give the story a chance, despite it not being your usual cup of tea, and I'm very happy that it didn't turn out to be an unpleasant experience for you despite that! :-)

This is definitely on my list of favourite Snupins :) Beautifully crafted and you express Snape's feelings so well. And it's wonderful to have an ending that tends towards the positive, even after the war is over. I hope to see more Snupins from your talented quill very soon!

Author's Response: We'll have to see if my plot bunnies stop giving me revolted looks and come over to play again. :-) Thank so much for your review, Araminta!

Oooh, mousie's doing slash! I have a hard time with the Snape/Lupin pairing, but you make it believable. The whole contradiction of what Snape feels for Lupin vs being so outraged when he gets hired works well for being ignored, our Sev just isn't that introspective. I love the scene with Snape and baby Harry. What happened to Tonks? I'm assuming she was killed, but one wonders. I'd really love to know what form of Patronus Snape conjured out of that memory!

Author's Response: Yes, mousie is a bit embarrassed to be presenting her very first erotic scene, not to mention a story where I willfully skirted around a piece of canon evidence, i.e. TONKS. :-D

I'm assuming the Remus/Tonks thing happened, and then didn't work out. Hmm, and you're right - that Patronus might be an interesting one, mightn't it? I hadn't thought about that! LOL

Thanks for the review, Owlbait!

"embarrassing reality that has been the root of so many of his fantasies" Good turn of phrase. This is bittersweet and lovely.

Author's Response: Thank you very much, and thank you for telling me what you liked! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
